teddylily
secrecy / blurred / actress
Watching her from across the room, he finds it difficult to believe that she's the very girl who he used to watch muggle fairytale movies with, the girl who believed in soul mates and happy endings and true love.
She was his -almost- sister and he was her best friend, and the girl across the room from him is not her, not the girl he once knew. Then again, it's been ten years and he's changed and divorced and just about ready to give up.
He knocks back another glass of champagne and she's leaning into some sleazy guy whose grabbing at her not-so-subtly, and it's almost funny because isn't this everything she always wanted? Boys draped all over her as she attends events with celebrities and recieves awards at all those pretentious ceremonies.
In all honesty, he's not surprised she got it all, she was always one hell of an actress and outgoing and is it the champagne or does she look unhappy?
He's knocking back yet another glass and striding over to her and everything's blurred but somehow he's in her bed and her lips are pressing against his, rougher than he would have though, and maybe that hopeful little girl is still in there, hidden behind all of her secrecy.
And maybe that little girl's long gone, but when has he ever been one to dwell on the maybes?
