Sorry I haven't posted in a while, my internet has been down for about a month. I'm only posting this because I stole my mum's laptop:) This is just a short story to get rid of the writers block!
The Person That Wasn't
Holly scrunched her toes in the artificial sand, feeling the artificial sea water wash over her tiny toes. The artificial sunlight pounded down on her chestnut-brown shoulders as she stood on the artificial shore. Thinking.
Not about anything in particular, that is. Just the kind of things that flashed through her head whilst she went about her daily business.
There was no free time nowadays, everything went so fast. Time just rushed past her, sometimes leaving her behind, like a frail old female that couldn't keep up with the rest of the pack.
That's why Holly liked coming to the beach. Just her, the sun, the sand, the sea and the sky. Time could wait for her for a change.
She thought about her past, and what she would do in the future. About her old commander and friend, Julius, and the unjust circumstance in which he had to die.
And she thought about Him. And how his own death had been so similar- sacrificing himself for his own people- yet how easily he had been resurrected. Like He had planned it from the start, which, knowing Him, He could well have done. She thought about how easily He had regained His memories of what was before, but still wasn't quite the same person.
He had changed, there was no denying it. His eye was a small example. It was discouraging to think that Holly's only hazel eye was now completely unique. It was quite strange seeing him with two cold, icy blue eyes that could see right into your soul. She had enjoyed sharing a part of herself with Him, it gave her a sense of belonging. He belonged to her and she to Him, nothing would be able to stop them as long as they were together.
Things were different now though.
The artificial sunlight dimmed until Holly could no longer see her reflection floating on the crystal clear water, nor feel the heat hammering on her back. She picked up her towel and wiped the sweat off her forehead.
It was time to go, she needed to call someone. A certain mudboy whom she hadn't seen for three whole weeks. It was nearing to his seventeenth birthday and Holly hadn't yet got him a present.
"Maybe I could get him something different this year… something unique."
She felt her lips tingle where had kissed him ten years ago, and smiled.
"Yes… something unique."
Her footsteps wandered slowly into the distance, fading away like the stars at dawn, they would be back soon.
Please R&R! Otherwise I wont write anymore:(
