Ello! ^^ Thanx for reading! On with the story!

She cried. Not when anyone was looking mind you but she cried. She often cried in the darkness of her room where no one could see. Every night the tears flowed down and she made no move to stop them. She loathed herself for not telling him the truth, for not making Yugi switch over so she could talk to Yami- or rather Atem.

Oh Atem how she missed his presence, his alluring personality so dark and mysterious. After he left her walking through the bright light into the distance she stumbled forward a bit in attempt to follow. Her legs gave out instead and she crumbled to the ground clutching the fabric over her chest as tears flowed freely. She heard her friends call but she didn't care to move she just stayed there frozen as it sank in that the only man she had and would ever love was gone forever.

Eventually she picked herself up off the floor and allowed herself to be taken back to where ever it was that they were before, it didn't matter. Her body may have moved but whatever was left of her heart stayed shattered on the cave floor and as she watched the Egyptian place fall into itself she felt nothing.

She picked up where she left off with high school, graduation, work, and even dancing though it no longer filled her heart with joy. She often caught herself staring at the clouds trying to imagine what paradise was like on the other side, she was given no answer.

She smiled daily and still boasted about friendship, still cheered Yugi on in Dueling competitions and took part in all the happy times that followed. She watched Joey finally accept Tristan as his sister's boyfriend and Duke travel the world broadcasting his new version of his own dice game. She smiled at all the weddings she visited and was invited to be a part of: Joey finally got over his pride and told Mai he loved her, Yugi eventually got over his shyness and accepted Rebecca's forwardness, and Seto Kiaba even discovered the reincarnation of his past life's beloved Kisara.

She watched from the side lines as all the respective couples began to have children and create families. Yugi passed out at the birth of his son and when Joey's daughter was born soon after he was so excited he ended up with an anxiety attack and had to be admitted to the hospital himself. The most amusing still was when Seto's reincarnated wife of Kisara (she could never remember her name) had their first child and though Seto was proud of being a father to a boy that would surely be just like him Mokuba was ecstatic. She remembered laughing while Mokuba did a happy dance in the waiting room about the child chanting something about no longer being the youngest and babysitting only to feed the boy with sugar and send him back to his brother.

She had gone home some nights after that and just sat on her bed staring at something in particular on the shelf in front of her. I was a plush. She had bought it many years ago when she was still a teenager and Yugi was known as the king of games. Technically she supposed that the doll was supposed to be Yugi but it wasn't to her. She had painstakingly searched for a Yugi doll with a semi- serious look on his face and when she had finally found the perfect one she had spent the entire night sewing most of the golden bond streaks of hair upwards into the rest of the hair, it was Yami.

She had originally made the doll for Yugi, though now she couldn't remember why, and had become too attached to it to even show anyone her creation. Over the years the dolls had gone out of circulation as Yugi passed the title on to someone else but she kept it. Late at night often when she couldn't sleep, (she didn't sleep most nights anymore) she would lay in bed and just look at it imagining how her life would be different if he had won the duel and stayed. She often wondered if she would be married or happily with children and a loving husband. With these thoughts she would hold the doll close as she eventually cried herself to sleep and drifted into peace less nightmares. She hadn't done that for some time.

About a month ago she had endured the shock of her life. She had been preforming a standard dance this time in a mall for a children's charity that she had done thousands of times before and as she saw her friends waving at her she glanced someone at the back of the room…with hair like Yugi. She stumbled and thanked the gods that she had a partner for this number and he caught her continuing on with the steps without missing a beat.

Her friends had appeared for her a bit later when her turn in the play was over and she brushed off what she though t she saw, that is until she got that heavy feeling of someone watching her. She turned and there he was, a bit older but Yugi was talking into her ear and no one else hair that hair except Atem. She watched him turn and walk away into the crowd and on impulse she chased after him, legs pounding the ground with her dancer muscles. She left her friends behind and followed what little of his hair she could see above the crowd and her heart beat increasing louder in her ears with every step. For the first time in a long time and was so excited she almost couldn't breathe.

She lost him as she stumbled upon a pair of kids dueling. The one with crazy hair just had a monster destroyed and he was grumbling to himself.

'Oh he'll be back don't worry about that.'

The other kid laughed. 'That's impossible he's dead!'

The younger boy smirked. 'Nothings impossible.'

Then the boy looked at her and she stumbled back falling onto her but in shock. Those were his eyes, sharp as knives and rich as the dark gems they represented. Then she blinked and the boy was back in front of her playing Duel monsters with a friend and as she stared at him a moment longer he looked over at her. Sea foam eyes looked at her curiously.

'Ma'am are you alright?'

She had nodded at him and he went back to his game before her friends found her but she couldn't forget what she had seen. Atem had led her there that day and had given her a sign that he would come back to her. As she laid in bed staring at her ceiling she made up her mind. She threw off her covers walked over to her shelf and snatched the doll up into her arms. She walked back to her bed and cuddled under her sheets with the doll for the first time in several years and allowed herself to cry. Despite how depressed she felt these tears were of happiness and she smiled as she floated calmly into a blissful sleep. He would return for her and she would give everything to be with him.
