Hello, this is my first trigun-theme story, and I also haven't written for awhile... just a heads up.
I own nothing
It was the ear piercing sound of silence that woke him up,
that high-pitched whistle of nothingness, caused by the colliding of microscopic dust, echoing off each other.
even in nothing, there is a sign of life.
Staring at the moons seemed to be the only way to distract from the noise, the only natural beauty to behold while sleeping outside.
Hearing a soft sigh, he rolled over to see the insurance girls on the other side of the dwindled fire, the short one finding it difficult to find comfort as she slept.
Without even disturbing the molecular scale war around him, remaining quiet, deftly swapped his cotton pillow for her feathered one. she was pillow-less for less time than it took for the silence to echo, and she found peace in her sleep.
It seems there actually was more natural beauty to behold, but ironically, not enough time in the world to do so. Even with her eyes closed, he thought of them, Oh how rare they were! Never in his hundreds of years has he matched that hue of lavender to anything else.
Then, swiftly, an all too human emotion crept up his spine, and grasped hold of his soul. Fear.
He knew he didn't even have her, really, but he still was afraid of losing her, *cough* them.
Humans eventually turn to dust, and he'd have to watch it. A new argument for his brother coming to mind.
Why kill them? They are so fragile anyway, they end up killing themselves. For a sick man with all the time in the world, couldn't he find that at least amusing enough to let them try to live their lives?
Still gazing at the softly breathing form he ponders to himself, Who wants to live forever?
At that moment he wished everyone had as much time as he did, or vice-versa. "Humm, ha , humm, Ha hum"
(Theres no time for us, theres no place for us)
The melody flew across the desert sand, flying with the reverberations in the air,
As the sun began to rise for the day, he whispered into a growing breeze,
"Who wants to life forever, Who dares to last forever, If love must die."
