Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's "Hooray for Thomas" from Season 7, which is also the last episode of the "Classic Series" with added lines by tate310. Enjoy and comment.
It was an exciting day on the Island of Sodor. It was the annual Sports Day.
Thomas was busy taking excited children to the fields, where the events would take place.
"I hope I get first place and win a medal." said a boy.
"It must be splendid to win a medal." chuffed Thomas. "After all, I'm the number 1 engine on Sodor!"
Thomas worked hard all afternoon, but he couldn't stop thinking about medals. He imagined himself wearing a gold medal on a bright red ribbon.
Thomas went to rest. Percy puffed over to see him.
"Hello Thomas!" whistled Percy. "I'm taking Sir Topham Hatt to Sports Day!"
"You can see the egg and spoon race." chuffed Thomas.
"I didn't know eggs and spoons had races."
"No silly!" laughed Bertie. "The children race with eggs and spoons."
"And the winner gets a medal!'' said Thomas. "I wish I had a medal."
"You need to win a race first!" whistled Percy.
This gave Bertie an idea.
"I'll race you Thomas! The first one to the station is the winner!"
"You're on!" called Thomas. "Ready, steady, go!"
And so the race began.
Bertie soon got stuck behind Trevor, who was pulling a hay cart.
"Better hurry Bertie!" called Thomas.
Then Thomas had to stop to pick up some passengers.
"Better hurry Thomas!" teased Bertie as he rattled over the bridge.
Bertie soon stopped at a level crossing.
"Last one there puffs hot air!" teased Thomas.
Thomas was nearly at the station. As he approached the playing fields, a signalman waved his red flag, forcing Thomas to stop.
Thomas was very cross. Bertie was sure to beat him now.
Then he saw Sir Topham Hatt.
"The Sports Day medals have been left in my office. You must collect them at once. We don't want to let the children down."
"Of course not sir!" replied Thomas as he chuffed away.
Meanwhile, Bertie had raced into the station.
"I won!" shouted Bertie as he waited for Thomas.
He waited and waited and waited, but Thomas never showed up.
But Thomas had forgotten about the race. He was thinking about the children.
"I can't let them down, I can't let them down!"
At last, Thomas puffed into Knapford Station. The stationmaster gave Thomas's driver a box of medals.
He arrived just on time! Sir Topham Hatt was very pleased.
"Well done Thomas!" said Sir Topham Hatt.
"Thank you sir!" panted Thomas.
Later, Sir Topham Hatt presented the medals to all the winners. Everyone clapped and cheered as the medals were presented.
The next day, Sir Topham Hatt arrived with a surprise for Thomas, a gold medal with Sir Topham Hatt' picture engraved on it.
"You are very useful, so you deserve this medal." said Sir Topham Hatt.
"Three cheers for Thomas, the number one engine on Sodor!" called a boy.
"Hip hip hooray! Hip hip hooray! Hip hip hooray!"
Thomas felt very happy, especially now that he had his own medal.
