Ice King laid on the icy ground of his fortress, he combed his pointy fingers through his long white beard trying to get the tangles out. He let out small sighs even a few a few lip trills. Today nothing really interesting was happening, he ignored the strange freaky creatures that he usually saw with his Wizard Eyes and no one was bothered to step into the Ice Kingdom so it was a slow day. All the penguins decided to leave their master alone while he laid on the floor. The King sat up, he cracked his back, "Another day, another princess," He laughed awkwardly to himself but he decided to have an off day for today, no princess, no fighting Finn and Jake just...sitting here thinking. He closed his eyes and took in a deep breath, letting the breath out with a cloud, his mind raced, reaching for some sort of coherent memory that he could lose himself in. All he found were fragments of his past, littering in the dark corners of his mind. He grunted as he squeezed his eyes shut, "C'mon...c'mon!" He yelled, shaking his fists, trying to force himself to remember.

Anything!

Anyplace!

Anyone!

He only came short, words muddled, glass breaking and muffled cries were all that came. He covered his eyes, anger filled him, "Why can't I remember her!" He screamed, feeling tears filling his eyes. He didn't know why he felt sadness filling him, or why he cried out those words. The Ice King just couldn't figure out who he was trying to remember and why it felt him with such melancholy. The white haired male curled into a ball, tears slipping down his blue cheeks before getting lost in his beard. He felt so lonely, so alone in this world. He sniffed and wiped his long goblin-like nose with the sleeve of his dark blue tunic, "Glob it..." The elderly man laid back down and turned to his side before staggering up to his feet and walked to his cheetah print blanketed bed. Ice King set his crown on the bedside table before he pulled the covers off before laying down on the soft cushions and pulling the blanket over him. He rested his head on the pillow that rested alone, too tired to grab the others that fell off the bed. His eyes dropped slowly but not until he caught sight of a ghostly figure, he knitted his brows together before looking up a bit. He saw a woman with pinkish skin and brown hair, a soft smile gracing her seemingly beautiful face. She had glasses on as a green turtle neck shirt and skirt, he sniffed, feeling his eyes weld with tears once again. "Wh...who are you?" He asked but merely got a shush and a finger pressed against his blue lips,

Hush, now Simon, Her voice sounded sweet as honey and he felt like it was familiar to him, his heart beating rapidly. His eyes dropped more as she soothed him, running her soft fingers through the long white hair at the back of his head. Slowly he closed his eyes, leaning into the touches, I love you Simon..., The Ice King smiled, happy to hear those words.

"I love you too...Princess Betty," He yawned before he fell into a deep sleep, snoring softly and in the dark recesses of his mind, where he could never touch again, he knew he would forget her in the morning and the image of his former fiance would dissipate until he was alone in his memories once more.
