And I'm back! Sorry that I left this site for a while... I got distracted. Very distracted. Okay, I lost interest for a while. But I have returned, and so has my questionable skill at writing! Enjoy!
As it turns out, Bill-proofing the Shack takes forever.
The moonstones and mercury were quick enough, but placing the unicorn hair around the Shack took ages, and it was almost sunset by the time they were finished. Mabel was practically dragging herself up the stairs after dinner. Mabel leaned against the bathroom door, almost falling inside when Dipper opened the door, walking over to his bed and grabbing his summer reading. Mabel walked inside, closed the door behind her, and quickly got into her pajamas, making a mental note to clean her sweater, which was heavily stained. When she went to brush her teeth, she paused, looking closely at herself in the mirror. Hadn't there been unicorn blood on her face? She was pretty sure there had been... brushing it aside, she continued to brush her teeth. It probably wasn't important, maybe there was some weird nerd reason the blood had disappeared.
Dipper reached over to turn off the lights, smiling at Mabel. "Goodnight, Mabel."
"Goodnight, Dipper." Mabel said quietly. Dipper paused, startled by the lack of enthusiasm. "You okay, Mabel?" Mabel yawned.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just really tired." Mabel was a lot more tired than she should have been. Bill-proofing the shack took quite a while, but it was really easy and shouldn't have made her really tired. Maybe it was all the walking she did while walking to the magical part of the forest and back. Or maybe all those good deeds. Or maybe fighting the unicorns, which actually was pretty difficult. Maybe it was all of those reasons. Whatever. She was just too tired.
Still uncertain, Dipper turned off the lights. Mabel snuggled deep into the sheets, pushing Princess Lovacorn off her bed after a moment's thought. Mabel was having some trouble sleeping recently, but she fell asleep almost immediately, not noticing that the patches of skin where the unicorn's blood had touched her were beginning to glow...
