A/N: Anyone here listening to ToS Drama CD 'A Long Time Ago'? It depicts about each characters' story pre-game.

"Get back here, Corrine!"

The said fox merely disobeyed her, leaping from one furniture to another while wagging its tail in delight. The whole room was a fine example of chaos. The paper lanterns, with its paper wrappings torn, cuddled together with her spare sitting pillows. Drawers opened and scattered, spell cards flying like bird's feathers, and almost all of her stuffs went out of place.

He chuckled at the scene, leaning comfortably on the only saved chair. Sheena glared at him, certainly annoyed. "You have an interesting pet here,"said Zelos, trying to supress his laughter.

"I invited you for help, not for watching me like a circus clown."

"I'm sorry, missus, but you sure look like a circus clown these past two hours."

Corrine, felt bored as no one chase him right now, picking a cozy spot on her cushion, observed them with great interest.

"Zelos..."
"Yes, Lady Sheena?"

"Stop kidding."

"Certainly, madam." He bowed her in such a manner that made her eyebrows twitched.

"Zelos, can't you shut up and help me fix this mess?" She smiled in frustration. Really, her friend could be such a kid every now and then.

"What a temper, Sheen. No wonder you don't have any boyfriend yet,"he teased.

"Wait-What?"She was caught off guard by his answer. He smirked.

"Why you! Huh, dating with one of those nobleboy from Meltokio? Are you kidding?" She shook her head. Merely think about it made her want to throw out.

"Kuchinawa and Orochi never crossed my mind either,"she ruffled her hair.

"Me?"

"H-huh?"She attempted to hide the red shade beginning to creep on her face.

"I see that taking effect on you,"he grinned.

Finally realize he has made fun of her, she yelled,"Oh, come here, stupid chosen! I'll beat a pulp out of you!"

He laughed and ran out the house. Sheena followed him and they began the cat and dogs game.

He let out a laugh when he recalled that. It was around the time Corrine was born, and now years has passed since that scene. It was one of those friendly bickering that now was harder to retain than ever. Just one of those sweet memories from the past.

He yearned for those times, before he began pushing her away. Then again, if it meant keeping her safe, out of these affairs, that's worth it.

He sighed. His newspaper hanging idly from his hand while the owner buried his body to the sofa, making him as convenient as possible while reminiscing and contemplating the pictures in his mind.

The bell rang, and moment later Sebastian entered the room, holding a letter enveloped in royal stamp.

"Master Zelos?"

"Yes, Sebastian?"

"This is from the king."His butler was hesitating for a while before continuing,"I know it's impolite of me to read, but… it said Miss Sheena will be dispatched to Sylvarant…to kill their Chosen."

His last sentence struck a blow to Zelos. A deep one.

A/N: I meant to make this before the moonlight scene from the OVA, the one when he talks to Sheena prior to her departure. I know it's an abrupt-sounding ending, so if you find that bad, I'm sorry.
