Chapter 1
It was dark outside, the room I sat in well lit though. I could hear the low hum of the street lamps outside as they flickered on and off. I sat waiting for the next day to come because I couldn't fall asleep for some reason. I get up the next morning and I heard an e-mail get received by my computer. It read, "You have been selected to test my newest invention, if you refuse, you shall be sent to The Void." I forget about the e-mail and walk down the stairs to get breakfast. I finished and began toward the door. When I opened it, there was nothingness I closed the door and ran up to my room. I received another e-mail, it read," Open this link to escape the void or watch your life wither away in this crumbling house. "I clicked it.
At first I thought I was in The Void, but then a wilderness of blocks popped up. I looked around and saw a sword stuck in the ground with a dead skeleton lying next to it. I slowly approached the sword, waiting for something to jump out at me. Nothing did though, so I grabbed the sword and started off cautiously. Something wasn't right with the sword, because it was glowing blue. While I was so intently staring at the sword I bumped into a white wall. I noticed a door, so I entered the door and there were weird ovens and worktables. There was even a bed with a dresser next to it. Well not a dresser as much as a chest. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a weird table with a book surrounded by bookshelves. This was right next to a weird lab thing; it had 3 bottles hanging from it. Suddenly I heard a noise outside, someone was walking up. I hurried behind one set of bookshelves; I hear the door creek open. My heart pounding, I hold my breath.
