They say that life gets better, but here I am. Fifteen years old and its only gotten worse for me. My name is Rosalina Tai and I live a pretty screwed up life. My dad is a drunk, my mom died when I was only 2 and I have no other family to go to. When I turn 16 I plan on getting emancipated, I am capable of taking care of my self and I know it. Hell, I am doing it right now pretty much. What I want most is a friend, someone to talk to, the only thing I have that's close to that is a support group that I go to secretly on Thursdays and we all talk about our feelings and struggles and what not. Yeah I talk to some of the fellow teenagers there but they just don't seem to understand me I guess.

It was raining outside and I was doing the usual thing I always do which is cleaning 'cause my father doesn't do anything. I try to get him some help or make him stop drinking but he just goes all berserk and swears all over the place.

''I'm going out.'' My father said.

''To where? To get more booze?'' I said sharply.

''Look, I don't need to deal with you today, its none of your business where I am going.'' he said leaving, slamming the door shut causing a book to fall off a shelf.

I sighed and went to go pick it up to put it back. I plopped down on my couch and thought about the times when my mother was alive, when everything was normal and I was happy. I looked at the time and noticed I should be heading to school. I put on my bookbag and walked out the front door. I go to a small school, its pretty ugly looking and not the best but atleast i'm getting some sort of a education and i'm thankful for that. When I finally entered the school I was getting stared down by one of my enemies named Patricia, god I really hate her.

''Wow nice shoes Rosalina, where'd you get them, payless?'' she said in a snotty tone, with her friends laughing at her joke behind her.

''Fuck off.'' I said while not even looking at her, passing her to get to my locker.

Why does she feel the need to bother me? I just don't understand. I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around quickly.

''Look just go away Patr- Oh sorry, uhm what do you need?'' I said stuttering a little. I've never seen this guy before in my school and I have no idea why he was talking to me.

''I didn't mean to bother you...I was just wondering if you knew where room 304 is at.'' he said shyly.

I'm not the type of person to drool over guys but he was gorgeous. He had short brown hair, tall, not so much muscular but he was cute. He was wearing a long sleeved shirt, was wearing skinny jeans with the average black and white converse.

''Oh uh I have that class first also, you can just walk with me, I mean if you want to.''

''I'd loved to.'' he said with a smile that could almost make someone faint.

''Cool.'' I said, all that I could think of saying, I'm such an idiot.

''My name is Rosalina by the way.''

''I'm Nat. You have a pretty name.'' He said.

''Thanks.''

Gosh, he's making me blush like a little kid in elementary school.
