Disclaimer: I do not own Elementary.
Just finished watching the finale of season two, and I kept replaying the scene where Joan and Sherlock have a heart-to-heart. I love the imagery so much that I cried every time I replayed that scene. The poem was inspired by their special relationship: not romantic, but unusual. Like they were born two pieces of a puzzle: weird when standing alone, but fit perfectly with one another. I don't know if it makes any sense at all, so just...read away. The title and point-of-view are left to your discretion.
'You have this kind of...pull. Like gravity. I'm so lucky that I fell into your orbit.'
You are the delicate fibers of existence inside me
a subtle hint of grace
Heartstrings entwined into cobwebs
one leads to another
slowly pulling me
towards you
If the darkness ever haunt us
be the star shining within
Burning a passion
igniting a spark
Every inhalation is a declaration of courage
embodying the fire until
the feelings are ripe
Speak the silence
for words are clumsy
Your eyes, a dreamy pool of pure simplicity
retell the stories of which
no one but I
can understand
Indulging in this beautiful vagueness
you are always the essence of light
a soft glow of promise
safeguarding the night
Our souls, two fragments of universe
complete each other in a circle
No start, no end
Just connected
As one
One more thing is that the music played when Joan says those lines is enchanting. It's just a few notes, but somehow they form a harmony that catches the slightest hint of love between them. Anyone who thinks the same with me? Thanks for reading!
