A Kingdom Hearts fan fic

(I don't own Kingdom Hearts or Red XIII or Cloud...)
After being hailed a hero from my village, I decided that it might be time to settle down and-maybe-start a family or something. But...I wasn't ready for that just yet...So I went on one last great hunt for Materia...However...I didn't know it would be my last...
I had traveled around the world, and had heard a few people talk about the legendary "transport" Materia. I couldn't contain my excitement about it and I asked the men where they had heard that. They laughed at me and said, "You couldn't find it even if you wanted to...They say its in the Ancient Forest...but that place has been abandoned for years..." With the little information I had, I ran to catch a boat from my village and to the other continent.
The boat trip was uneventful, and I made it safely through the country, taking in the sights, and sleeping under the stars...well...I didn't sleep really, because I was excited about the Materia. However, I reached Cosmo Canyon and had a talk with Red XIII, the lion with the intelligence of a man, he told me that Cloud had crossed his path again, concerned about the dimming of the stars. I asked him about the "transport" Materia, but he said that he had never heard of it, and with that I left his lab, and continued on my journey. I came to the edge of the forest, and then I readied my boomerangs before I moved in, and it was as though I had stepped into a different world.
The trees totally covered the sun, so it was hard to see anything, but I kept going, slaying some monsters along the way, and then I felt something. I turned around to see who was there, but it was no one, I shook my head and continued on my journey, but it came again. I spun around, trying to get a glimpse of the creature in the woods with me, but there was nothing again, then I realized that it was pain, coming from my heart. I clenched my chest in pain, and fell to the ground, but suddenly, the intense pain left. I sat down on the ground and pondered this for a moment, what happened? I thought to myself, There was so much pain in my heart, but then it disappeared... I started to get up from the ground, but something caught my eye.
I reached for the object, and brushed some of the dirt off it, and it was purple! I grabbed the sphere and shouted, "I'VE FOUND IT!" and then I held it in my hand, like a priceless antique. But then, I felt a surge of energy run through me, I only blinked one, and then I found myself on the beautiful coast of Costa Del Sol!
A giant grin came to my face as I realized that it was the transport Materia after all. But something was still amiss- I wasn't thinking of Costa Del Sol at all! This is too weird, but it's a Materia! I thought to myself, and started to soak in the rays of the sun on the beaches of Costa Del Sol.
However, later that night would be strange. I was awoken from my sleep, and I looked to the beach and what I saw puzzled me. I saw a tiny black creature with little antenna, and a pair of yellow eyes, scurrying around, it seemed to be looking for something, but then it just vanished. I ran outside to see if I could see the creature, but it was nowhere to be found! Then I felt another surge of energy...
It seemed like a million years before I could open my eyes...and what I saw almost scared me to death. I was in a much different place than Costa Del Sol. There was a breeze, which chilled my bones compared to the beaches, and I started to walk to what I thought was the town square, and I took in my surroundings. It looked like a town straight form a history book, everything seemed old and falling apart, then I looked at the Materia in my left hand, but it had faded to dust...Now I am in a strange town, called Traverse Town, and I am not alone...
