AN: I volunteer at the library. I read for children, and one of my fellow readers read "Oh the Places you'll Go" and when she was reading, all I could think of was Mello. Then I brainstormed this story. So without further ado, I present to you "Mello beats Near." A collection of one shots in which Mello beats Near. I will be taking requests from you, but some will be my own ideas. So request, but I won't do anything that has to do with Yaoi. Have fun, and enjoy!

Wammy's House decided that they should really have a gym class. So they did, and that's why at seven o'clock in the morning Mello, Matt, Near, and some other kids were in sweat pants, and a t shirt that said "Wammy's Phys Ed" and a stressing gym teacher, who was called Coach Ford.
"I don't like petty introductions, so I'm going to ask you to do The Shuttle Run. At the end of class I'll give you the top three. Kid," He pointed to some kid "You're first."
A few kids went before;
"Kid," He pointed to Near "You're next."
Near ran at a surprisingly fast pace.
The girls swooned in admiration.
"Kid," He pointed at Matt "Go."
Matt ran really fast, but not as fast as Near.
"You," He pointed at Mello "You're last."
Mello ran an amazing pace.
The girls cheered, and he smirked at them.
"Alright…Matt, you were third."
"As expected." Matt says
"Near…you're second"
Mello nearly choked on a piece of chocolate. Near looked very frustrated.
"Mello…well done. You were first."
"Gah!" Near growled.
Mello grinned and said "Hah! Yes! I won, I'm first!"
The girls murmured things, and went over to Mello. Two of them linked arms with him, and a few more put there hands around his neck.
Later, Mello was telling everyone how he beat Near. Even L, who was shocked.
Mello never forgot this victory. Every time Near rubbed an "A+" in his face, he brought up the shuttle run. Mello was proud of his small victory, but he knew he would have to work harder to beat him at something else. He wondered: "What will I win next?"
