There's Always Tomorrow
Dean awoke to a strange sound. Someone with a rather deep voice was singing outside the motel room he shared with his brother, Sam. Cautiously, Dean moved to the door and opened it to see a familiar figure swaying as he sang, spinning around occasionally which made his trenchcoat swirl around him like a beige whirlwind, wrapping around him and then falling back into place. In Dean's opinion the song itself was awful, but the lyrics clearly meant something to the figure in the parking lot.
They'd had a fight you see, him and Castiel. The angel had left really upset and Dean was too stubborn to go after him. As Dean listened, he heard sobs hidden within the voice as the person sang into the night.
"You were everything, everything that I wanted…
We were meant to be, supposed to be, but we lost it.
All of the memories so close to me just fade away…
All this time you were pretending, so much for my happy ending…"
Dean moved towards the drunken angel and caught him mid twirl. Castiel met Dean's beautiful eyes and tears filled his own stunning blue ones.
"I love you…" he whispered, not knowing what else to say.
"I love you too." Dean replied, pulling the angel in for a hug, "I'm sorry, Cas."
"I'm sorry too, Dean." He said softly, pulling back and kissing him gently, "We can't have make up sex yet, can we?"
Dean grinned and his arms remained around the angel's waist.
"Not now, Baby no…but there's always tomorrow."
