Disclaimer: You know the drill- I don't own Toy Story. I wouldn't even be here if I did.
A/N: Before you read this- As the title and summary obviously suggests -I'm going to be writing a series of One-shots related to Sunnyside Daycare center. This of couse means that there will be spoilers (so if you haven't watched the three-qule, try and refrain from reading this), but this is also sort of a way to lay out theories and inturptretations reguarding the daycare, Lotso, and other characters that live(d) there, and to expan on them for the sake of analyzation and curiosity. The one-shots will mostly be set up either pre-movie or durring-movie events, and possible post-movie events too. Knowing the nature of the Daycare durring the movie, you might expect them to be a little bit dark, but I may make room for lighter one-shots too. The rating might change too because of this, depending what direction I take with this.
Also, the legth of each story will vary and won't always be of 'drabble' size. I'm also open for ideas reguarding future short stories and drabbles, so you need not be afraid to share them openly or via PM. Thank you.
That familiar cry of joy made by Jack-in-the-Box, to the toys in the Butterfly Room, meant a warm welcome towards the new arrivals. Maybe there was some hidden sympathy towards them too, knowing all too well that they may never see their newly acquainted friends again once they enter the mouth of the Caterpillar Room.
As for the toys who were already digested inside the stomach of that very playroom, this could mean their one way ticket into the next landfill.
Not that there were many remaining newer toys in there to begin with; most had either been broken through the wrath of out of control toddlers, or purposely broken by Lotso's toughest and most loyal followers. Sometimes it was a combination of both, and his favorite way of combining the two was through the help of Bookworm and some extra spent time in The Box. It would start by bringing, or dragging the worn and digested toy near Bookworm's hidden library of toy manuals and booklets while they would be tied up to prevent escape. Then through Lotso's orders, Bookworm would give him the packet that matched the the type of toy who was being held prisoner by him. After examining the booklet or manual, he'd use the information to have his tougher minions 'teach them a lesson' depending on their materials or structure. Once the toy was disassembled or torn enough so that they couldn't move their arms, leg or whatever allowed them to move, Lotso's followers brought the broken toy to The Box to spend the rest of the night, and then would 'forget' to take them out from their sandy cell the next day.
As predicted of course, during recess at the daycare, the children would do the rest of the dirty work.
These were the familiar fates known by the residents of Sunnyside, and no one was safe from them. Even for the veterans residing in the Butterfly Room, they all knew that one wrong move made at the right moment could send them straight into one of the jail cells of the Caterpillar Room cubbies. Even though most of the Butterfly Room toys were careful enough to stay in their safe haven, all but Lotso's followers were still treated like second-rate toys in their seemingly perfect paradise.
Unfortunately for the new arrivals, they had never expected any of that.
