Author's Note: You will notice some interesting terms being used in this story. As part of an assignment, I wanted to incorporate certain musical terms and ideas into the story.
The reason why I wrote this story, besides my assignment, is I wanted to write a bit of fluff. This gives a brief glimpse of Emma's past while also adding in some HookSwan fluff. Enjoy!
Snow Falling
Snow waltzed across the sky in groups of three. An accented one would lead the way with two lightly following in suite. The libero patterns entranced any who stopped to watch while the snow blanketed the world. The snow looked like fairies, flying in every direction free of any burden or strife. Emma Swan basked in the glory of the snow. Something that caused so much havoc, chaos, and anger, gave Emma so much joy. Snow was the one thing that would always comfort Emma in her darkest times.
At the age of five, Emma could remember trying to drown out the screams of rage that echoed through the foster home. She knew that it was only the anacrusis to the big argument and that things would not end well for the foster children. Instead of hiding, Emma sat in the bay window and gazed across the vast horizon that never seemed to end. She wanted to run away, but she did not want to get into trouble again. Her foster parents were known to be violent when the children were in trouble. Emma had tried to talk to her social worker, but nobody believed her. She wished for something, anything that could help.
As if by magic, little pieces of white started to fall from the sky. Emma was confused as to what this was. It looked like someone has ripped up pieces of paper and decided to throw them everywhere. The very image gave Emma a warm feeling on the inside. She watched as the snow began to cover every inch of the horizon. Instead of the boring and flat horizon, the horizon looked pure and peaceful.
The doorbell brought Emma back from the mesmerizing snow. Emma looked down and noticed the Social Worker's car with a police car. She took off running down the stairs to see her Foster father being arrested. Emma could not help the smile that spread over face as she jumped into her Social Worker's arms.
"I'm so sorry for not believing you." Emma knew that this was the cadence of this foster home. Everyone would be sent somewhere else and the parents could not hurt anyone again.
It was on that day that Emma began to love snow. From then on, Snow would become an important part in Emma's life. She could count on being happy and at peace whenever snow would fall.
"The world is a peace." Killian surprised Emma with a cup of hot cocoa with cinnamon on top.
"What do you mean?" Emma asked. She knew that there was snow in the Enchanted Forest, but this was the true first snow fall for them as a couple.
"The snow. The world always seems peaceful after a good snow fall." Killian did not noticed the look of pure love that came over Emma's face. It was at this point that Emma knew that Killian was perfect. They truly shared one mind and heart.
The End
I hope you enjoyed it!
