I've seen too much in life to give up. –Al Sharpton
Pose.
That's all you seem to do. Pose. That is what is expected of you. And you know it too. You know that's what you're supposed to do, that's what everyone expects you to do.
Pose.
Your mother would always tell you that you were a Pureblood woman. You always had to act like it. You always had to pose.
Pose.
You've come to hate that word. It symbolizes all you are. It seems like that's all your good for. Posing and acting like everything's okay. Leaving all your emotions on the inside. Acting like nothing and no one matters.
Pose.
Even after the war, that's what people expect of you. They expect you to pose, act like everything's all right, and you haven't seen hundreds of people die, and get tortured, right in front of your face. And no matter how much you yell and scream and cry, no one hears you. Because let's be honest, whoever wins the war, you're a traitor to both sides. Neither side wants you. And why would they?
Pose.
You, Pansy Parkinson are a traitor, they say, you're a coward. You should've died. Someone should've lived in your place. No one wants want, they tell you. No one cares about you anymore. Actually no one ever did.
Pose.
But you act like you don't care, you don't give up. You try to be nice to everyone you met, only to have your friendly smile be shot down with a smirk.
Pose.
It seems like people are determined to remember the person you once were, instead of the person you're trying to become. For Purebloods, there's no second chances-and that's a tradition that's still kept to this day.
Pose.
Sometimes you wish that you had died in the Battle of Hogwarts. Because you wouldn't have to go through this, these people. Once you think about it, you realise that you were one of those people before, always mean to the other girls. But you had to. You didn't have a choice. You had to be dominant. It only made sense. You were the Pureblood here. They weren't.
Pose.
So pose, Pansy. Act like you don't care about anyone. Hid behind your frills, your wealth. Fake a smile. But don't give up. You've seen too much in life to give up.
Maybe someday, someone will see you the real you.
