.

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee was simply too enticing.

Free from chains and proud to be walking the streets without them, Simon Blackquill went where he pleased after his paperwork was completed and filed. Without a trial to keep him busy, he roamed the city without real destination for the first time in seven years. He found some very interesting places on his walks.

With a jangle of the door, the prosecutor entered the coffee shop intent on having a cup that didn't taste like the office's machine and its sludge. He found himself staring at one of the Wright Anything Agency's clients he had accused of murder. He felt no guilt for doing his job, but she clearly felt uncomfortable under his unwavering gaze.

"U-um…" She stuttered through her lines, ending with a squeak, "What can I get for you today?"

Ignoring her unease, Simon's eyes briefly examined the board behind her filled with frilly nonsense. There was nothing for it. "A cup of coffee," he smirked, "if you so please." He didn't feel like experimenting with his stomach today.

"C-Coming right up!"

Taking his drink to a table in the back, he absentmindedly offered Taka morsels as he sipped his coffee. Thankfully, it wasn't sludge; he could actually taste how fresh it was.

Thin lips quirked faintly.
