"Sasuke…" Naruto said softly, as he stared at the touching toes of his socks and Sasuke's sneakers while their foreheads were pressed intimately against one another's.
"I…want to be with you…but…I can't. It's not right. It's…unnatural.
"Naruto, since when has love ever been wrong?" Sasuke asked kindly, albeit firmly.
"Sodomy is a sin, and love is helping your important people get to heaven. Sasuke, I want to die knowing that I helped you get to heaven, and if you're not there when I get there, our sacrifice will have been wasted. And it will be entirely your fault." Naruto replied, as tears welled in his eyes. Sasuke slowly lifted his hand to grasp onto the other teen's navy blazer and said
"I don't give a flying fuck about going to heaven! I just want to…need to show you that I can love you just as much and more than any girl could or can. Just because we are both guys doesn't mean that our love is more or less honest than anyone else's." Naruto looked at him, covering the hand fisted on his blazer with his own and explained
"Sasuke…God gives everyone a cross, some have disease, others abuse, and yours and mine…it's our homosexuality. We need to bear these crosses through our lives, because giving in to sin is too easy an escape for both us."
"Naruto just let me love you! You are too afraid to get close to anyone that you won't even let me, and then you hide behind your faith to protect yourself from getting hurt! People get hurt Naruto! It's fact. But I love you so much, more than you can ever comprehend. And you are hurting yourself by not letting me love you." Sasuke said as he buried his neck into the smaller boy's shoulder.
"Sasuke…I do love you, and I know that you love me back, and I know our love and our passion is real. And more than anything in the world I want to be with you. But what we have, as much as it doesn't seem so, is created out of sin. We are each other's forbidden fruit. I don't want you to be my sin or I yours. But you are, and you always will be, and neither of us can change what God has willed. And even I let you love me, in my heart I could never truly be happy, because I would know that what we are doing would displeases our heavenly father. So together we must rise beyond this. Please Sasuke." He said as he raised the other boy's head so their eye could meet. "Do you love me enough to get me to heaven? I want to be there with you, and maybe when we get there God will see how pure our love truly is and our souls can unite for all eternity." Naruto whispered through tears.
"Dobe, just one word and you know that I will turn away. But know that as I begin to walk away my heart is shattering in your very hands. And all those pieces of me that you are holding will cut you and stay with you until you are rotting in the ground along with me. And you will realize that we have wasted our lives on a stupid belief." Sasuke said angrily as he released his grip on the blonde and backed away to put distance between the two. Without another thought or backwards glance he grabbed the doorknob and slammed out of the apartment.
"Sasuke" Naruto whimpered to himself as he crumpled to the ground in grief. "I want to be with you always because I love you more than I should."
