The air was all wrong.

Not even the fact that gigantic... robots? Monsters? Were fighting outside.

That wasn't what was bothering her, messing up the balance. Not that it was completely normal, but it wasn't what poked and prodded her.

"It's useless, Hana-chan."*

She didn't turn around all the way-- she didn't need to. She knew the voice.

"Kodaira...?!"*

He... knew that little girl?

An unfamiliar voice. What was he talking about?

There was a scream, but before she had time to turn around, she felt her gut being grabbed and squeezed, before being jerked off her feet and sliding back on her heels. Reaching down to grab whatever it was that was holding her around the waist, she felt her way around it. Sticky.

"Agh!" she half-screamed as the stuff hooked onto her wrists and jerked her arms painfully back, and up, forcing her to bend over to avoid her arms popping from their sockets as her body was lifted up. Her ankles were bound too.

Her breathing was ragged, trying to catch her breath and figure out what was happening. First the things outside, Yamato's jumping out the window and on to the red boy outside. And then suddenly in it's place was a mecha like she would see on TV.

And Kodaira. What the fuck was going on with him?

She looked around her as best she could.

Oume, Kiyose... some of her other classmates and she assumed Sayama was the one beside her. They were all bound as much as her, and mostly unconcious.

All of the binding looked familiar. Like she'd seen it.

Like a spiderweb, the gossamer threads that stuck to everything and formed patterns that the spiders made. That caught its prey and trapped it. Struggling only told the spider it was there. It quickened your death.

She was trapped in a spiderweb. Her friends were trapped in a fucking spiderweb.

Except Kodaira and Yamato.

"Kodaira!" she yelled, struggling against the threads, "Kodaira!"

He turned around to look at her, brown eyes calm and collected and his glasses catching a little of the glare from the lights.

How was he calm?

The way the boy looked at him, Kodaira was in control of the situation.

He told the boy to tie them all up.

"Hm?"

She couldn't find words. She just stared. She was wrong. Beneath the calm, was excitement and fear... other things she couldn't read... couldn't understand.

"Kodaira... what are you doing?" Her voice shook.

"It'll all be okay." He smiled at her. He smiled at her.

"Tell me what the fuck you're doing!" she screamed, struggling against the web again, wanting to do nothing more than kick some sense into him.

The battle outside sounded like it was ending, struggling squeaks could be heard.

"Just go to sleep, Ohtake." he said and the web around her gut squeezed, tighter and tighter, squeezing her organs. More and more pain, but she kept her eyes on Kodaira's. She wasn't going out that easily.

She didn't understand what was going on.

What was going through her friend's mind? What was he thinking about?

Her vision started to waver, tears blurring it over before she finally couldn't take the pain and stopped her struggling, her weight slumping against the web, the lights fading out and the only thing remaining being her and her mind.

Set between Chapters 8 and 9 of the manga.

*Dialogue is taken directly from the scanlations by JAC. I do not claim the dialogue as my own writing.

Okay so, random muse. That ran around in my head. For two hours.

Implied AkitsuLune because god dammit I ship that.

R+R. I like to know if I fail/win/something else.

Thanks for reading~

*goes back to drawing Lune and Jealous in suits*

EDIT: Changed 'Akitsu' to 'Ohtake' in Lune's dialogue for hopefully more accuracy. Thanks, Kiisu!
