So I wrote a couple chapters to this a while ago, it's not a fanfiction so I put it in misc. please review and I might post the second chapter.

Chapter 1

I stare at the blank white ceiling. The summer breeze blew through my old chipped window. I shivered as it hit me while I was lying on my bed. Lisa had just washed my sheets the day before, so they smelled like the laundry detergent we bought every time we went to the store. Mittens startled me as she jumped onto my bed and lay by my feet. Mittens was Lisa's old lazy cat. She was all black except for her 4 paws, which were white.

It was Sunday and I was supposed to be getting ready for church, but instead I kept my pajamas on until Lisa yelled at me to get dressed. "Avery! Are you getting ready?" we have to go in 20 minutes!" Lisa yelled from downstairs. "Now I am!" I called back to her as I sat up. My closet sat across my room, and I tried to think of what to wear. I grabbed my T-shirt with blue and pink flowers on it, and my light pink ruffled skirt that sat just above my knees.

Mittens looked at me when I through the clothes onto the bed. I grabbed my tan sandals that looked like beach sand. I loved the beach. It was the place where I could close my eyes and remember the sweet memories with my parents and brother. The ocean reminds me of the time when we went to Hawaii when I was 4 years old. My brother, who was 6, helped me build my sand castle and trained me to swim in the pool. Only a year later was the horrible day… I always tried to erase it from my mind.

After I put all my clothes on, I went into the bathroom and but my hair in a ponytail and placed a pink flower behind it. I walked downstairs and saw Lisa trying to find her keys. "Have you seen my keys Avery!?" she asked franticly. "Are they in your purse?" I asked. "No!" she replied as she checked the drawers by the computer. "They are on the kitchen table Lisa." I told her as I grabbed them and threw them at her. "… Really?" "I think I'm losing it Avery." She replied.

Lisa and I got in her car and we drove off to church… or at least that's where I thought we were going. A lot of times Lisa liked to skip church and drive to the pier and look at the ocean. Or she will go to the pond and watch the crazy jumping fish. I think she liked water almost as much as I did.

"Are we going to church today?" I asked. "Nope." She replied. "The weather is beautiful today and the waves are perfect." The beach… we hadn't gone in such a long time. It was always church because it had been raining for the past few weeks, but I finally get to dig my toes in the sand. I couldn't wait to get there. It only took about ten minutes from Lisa's house.

When we pulled into the parking lot that faced the ocean, my face lit up. I took off my shoes and left them on the car floor so they would get all sandy. As I opened the car door a gust of ocean breeze hit me in the face. I walked onto the beach and the warm sand tickled my toes. It was wonderful. It had been almost a month since we were at the beach, and I really wanted to spend my whole day here.
