It's the first day of school, Lauren Beckett, 14 is waking up to a cold September morning in Greensboro, North Carolina, to a new day where she thought about how nothing had changed, as she lay there, in her warm bed with sheets that were crinkled with deep grooves like pastel mountains, which to her surprise, lined up perfectly in orderly rows. She thought this day would be the same as always, yet something was going to change, he would be the one to change her life, forever.
