The Fee
He claimed he would charge a million gold to "fall in love" withsomeone.
He never had much interest in romance.Volke was a loner; he protected himself alone and needed no hindrances. He was content with his work and especially pleased with his pay.
He would need a considerably good reason to marry a girl, and he decided the only motive was for money. Maybe his standards were a little too high, but he had no intentions of initiating romance in the first place.
Any girl who desired his love would be either completely mad or completely oblivious, he assured himself.
He was proven wrong once he met her. She was timid at first, but he did not blame her; he was quite an intimidating fellow. She was neither insane nor oblivious, as he hadassumed. When he discovered her poor income, he was not at all repelled from her.
Volke concluded that she did not have to pay his unreasonable fee, after all. She, alone, was worth all the money he could ever earn.
Ok, so this was...really random. And probably out of character for Volke, considering that he has no connection with any woman at any time. But I was so mad that FE9 had such bizarre pairings, and very few that I actually liked. I wish Volke had more supports, cause he's cool. And anyways, I didn't want to do anything first period, and I keep having urges to write stuff. Anything. So its not my best work ever.
So this pairing isn't any girl in particular, I tried keeping it vague. Although I think what inspired it was reading Red Warrior's "Love Me if You Dare", which is a pretty good fic in my opinion. :) I kind of like the Volke/Nephenee pairing.I don't know, I just was playing FE9 when I was sick, and I thought that Volke would expect extreme amounts of money for stuff he doesn't want to do. Enough blather, though. Hope you liked even though it was veryshort, and not one of my cutesy "dialogued and detailed"fics...
