A New Beginning
Hayate pulled his head away as grief swept over him.
"Why? Why wasn't she moving? Come on tulip head !"
NOTHING
He slumped his head. Then her fingers twitched, and her eyes slowly opened.
"She's alive" Hayate couldn't help smiling a discrete smile. Then she raised her hands to her lips, gently she brushed her fingers over her warm lips. Hayate's smile vanished, and his cheeks became a reddish pink as he blushed.
" Does she know? "
He looked up only to realize that she was staring at him with a look of confusion. Out of nowhere she screamed, "You Idiot ", as she wrapped her arms around his neck, and cried.
Shock total shock is the only thing that registered for a few moments. Followed by…
"What? Why? Why am I an idiot? Why are you crying?"
"Because when I told you to stop protecting me you wouldn't, and you were about to be killed!"
All he could do was laugh.
She looked at him in shock.
"Why are you laughing?"
He raised a finger to silence her leaving his other arm to reach around her and embrace her.
Then Hayate said the unthinkable…
"Because I Love You"
All Himeno could do was cry, but it wasn't a sad cry but a happy cry.
"I Love You, too!"
Then in the distance they heard cheering. Gurglingly they tore their eyes from each other to look around them. As the realized, what had just happened and where it had happened they both began to blush. Around them stood the leafe knights, Himeno's family, and Takahoe. There wasn't a dry eye in the bunch. Then Hayate leaned down and poured his feeling's out into a passionate kiss.
