It was amazing. Percy and I were lounging on the beach. It was a bright sunny day and I was wearing the brand new bikini that I had just bought from Gucci. I had been saving up for it for months. It was just the kind of day I had been wishing for. Not too hot or dry, and not too cold and wet either. I was going on about some business trip that he had to go on for his dad. I was anticipating missing him, but he'd never left before so I didn't know what it would be like. He finally shut me up by sitting a little black velvet box on my bare stomach. I sort of gasped because, well when a boy gives you a black velvet box what do most girls think? I think you can answer that one for yourself. I tentatively picked it up, as if it where made of glass. I looked over at Percy and he smiled. I figured that if I didn't open it he would be hurt so I closed my eyes, counted to 3 and then quickly flipped the top. It wasn't a ring. It was a necklace. A beautiful golden heart on a simple golden chain. When he saw the look on my face he began to speak.

"Annabeth, I know you will worry but there is nothing, absolutely nothing that will keep me from coming back to you. I want you to know that you have my heart and you always will. Forever."

I began crying and hugged him. This was not like me, crying I mean. Annabeth doesn't cry. I've been stabbed, slashed, choked, and poisoned, and I didn't shed a tear, but this necklace, it did me in.

"I love you. I love you so much." Was all I could say for a matter of minutes. This was exactly where I was supposed to be. Right here in his arms. Forever, just like he said.
