Chapter One

It was raining. Again. As the day in Amegakure drew to a close, it began to get dark. Well, no dip Sherlock. Obviously it was gonna get dark as the day drew to a close! Ever heard of the word "night"? Here, here. You want me to use it in a sentence? It was a dark and stormy night. See? There, now spell it. Uh, N-I-G- Wait, I should probably get to the main character telling the story. Uh, yeah…

It was raining. Again. As the day in Amegakure drew to a close, it began to get dark. I walked down the path, my eyes flickering side to side instinctively. When I remembered that I was walking alone, I sighed. Where was my life going? My two teammates and best friends were dead, and there was nothing I could do. Sometimes it felt as if there was a hole inside of me, and I couldn't fill it with all of the paper in the world. Nagato was so powerful, and such a nice and kind person. Yahiko was such a… goofball and such a great leader. But now that they were gone, I didn't know what to do with myself. The path I was walking on was covered in puddles, figuratively and literally. I could always do origami tricks to keep me entertained, or just make 50 billion birds with the swipe of a hand. Hmmm… tempting, but no. I guess I'll just sit at home and think about my lif- I stepped in a warm puddle. "Yahiko! Nasty! I told you not to piss on my foot!" I yelled as I turned around to scold him and maybe pimp slap him a bit. As I realized that I was alone once again, I also noticed that my foot was dissipating. Crap. As the warm water spread throughout my leg, and the water made me soggy, I gained back enough common sense to take my foot OUT of the puddle. Shocking, I know. So, after I recoated myself with paper and kept walking down the lonesome road, I felt warm water on my foot soon after. 'Eh, its just a puddle', I thought to myself. But then I realized, after walking for almost 5 minutes, that either this was a reaaalllllyyyy long puddle, or someone really was pissing on my leg.

"Hey, you dumb***! Stop it!" I yelled, sparing the bad word because it was a child that was bothering me.

"Sorry, I'm almost done." The child said, and I turned him around. I realized that there were two other children, 2 boys and 1 girl in total. Apparently, the boy had finished and he zipped up and turned around. "Sorry, there was no other way to get your attention." He explained.

"You could have just tapped my shoulder!"

"But that would be no fun!"

I shut my mouth and turned to the other two. Boy first. "Hello, how are you?" I asked, lowering my voice and returning to normal me. He just nodded and I turned to the girl. She responded to me, very softly as well.

"H-hello. My name is Mei. I am fine, and these are my teammates, Okami (pee boy) and Kage (Silent one)." I made the mental note as she continued. " We lost our home and families to the flooding and war, so may we have some food?" I had a sudden flashback t a similar fate of a similar group and made a decision. I will take them in.

I summoned a giant paper crane and told them to get on. They did, with Okami behind me. I took off, and we flew towards my house. I told them something very important. "Never get paper wet, especially giant flying paper." What a great life lesson. I stiffened as Okami sighed an "Oops." I felt the paper getting heavier.

I turned around and slapped Okami.

I made friends that day.
