„Go home! Go to your Hamptons, your ex-wife and your book parties" With these words Det. Beckett turned around and walked away.
Castle stood there in the hallway with an open mouth and watched her walk away.
"Hey, Beckett! Wait!" But she ignored him, so he ran after her.
He hold her wrist and forced her to turn around and look at him. He could see the pain in her eyes. One single tear ran down her cheek.
"Hey… What's wrong? What did I do?" He asked. He really didn't know what he'd have done, or how he should react now.
"Beckett. Talk to me! What's wrong?" He said.
"Just go away Castle! Leave me alone like you already have done…"
"Hey! You don't have the right to say that! I invited you multiple times, and everytime you said no…" His concern about Beckett turned to anger. Women! He'll never understand them.
Beckett tried to control herself, her feelings. She never thought that seeing Castle again would be so hard. She was angry, hurt and just wanted to run away.
"From all the women of the whole world, you had to choose Gina?"
"You're jealous or what? How do you think I felt, watching you flirting around with that Demming guy?"
"I broke up with him because of you" Her voice got louder…
"You never told me!"
"You didn't give me a chance! You just left with your ex-wife" She defended herself, still trying to control her feelings. But that didn't work out that well.
"I thought you were happy again. I didn't want to destroy that happiness" He and Beckett had became so close, but then that Demming guy has showed up and has destroyed everything. God! How much he hated him! "I decided to give you some space and I could finish that book. I invited Gina because I thought she'll make me forget you, but that didn't work. I thought of you every single day. You can't even imagine how much I missed you"
"But…"
"Kate, shut up!" he said and put one hand on her cheek "I love you!"
Then he leaned down and kissed her. First she was shocked but then she just closed her eyes and kissed him back… She bet that the whole precinct was staring at the both of them standing in the middle of the floor, especially Espesito and Ryan, they had had both a big grin in their faces. She didn't care, she was just happy.
For the first time since her mum's murder she was truly happy…
