This came to me one morning. May be a bit morbid but hopefully you'll like it.
Eulogy
Daniel Vincenzo Messer and Lindsay Ann Monroe (Montana to her husband) finally married after three years together. What was expected to be a whirlwind romance turned out to be something much more special.
They immediately began to build a family. Nine months after their wedding night Lindsay gave birth to their first child, a daughter, Mackenzie Ann Messer, named after their boss and good friend Mac Taylor. Two years later identical twin boys, Dominic Daniel (named after Danny's father, Domenico), and Benjamin Vincent (named after Lindsay's father) were welcomed into the world. Finally, 3 years after the twins Lindsay and Danny became the parents of another beautiful girl, Rosa Marie Messer, named after both of their mothers. The boys inherited their mothers brown hair and the girls their fathers blonde hair, however all the children, much to Danny's delight, inherited his bright blue eyes.
When Mac Taylor retired after spending his entire working life in the NYPD he named Danny as his predecessor, telling him that it had been his plan all along and that he had always believed in him. On Danny's first day as leader of the crime lab he sat at Mac's desk, with tears in his eyes, watched by his equally moved wife, who although taking many months maternity leave, never left her job as a CSI for the city she had grown to love.
Throughout their life Danny and Lindsay made a vow to raise their children the perfect mix of country and city, spending the majority of their free weekends in Montana. Danny grew to love the country and even suggested they move out there, but Lindsay said she had grown to love the city and they couldn't leave their jobs. Instead, they bought a cabin by a lake, not far from Lindsay's parent's ranch.
As their children grew, they all became members of law enforcement, Mackenzie and Benjamin, followed their parents footsteps, becoming CSI's and for a while working for their father, Dominic joined his "Uncle" Flack as a detective and Rosa who was the brains of the family, went to Harvard to study Law. She began working as a lawyer, but moved on to become one of the most respected judges in the city.
Lindsay and Danny retired on the same after many years service for the NYPD. They spent their days helping to raise their 10 grandchildren, taking trips out to the cabin in Montana and loving the city they had served for so many years.
After 50 years of marriage, Lindsay Ann Messer died of the cancer she had been fighting for 5 years. Danny was inconsolable. He spent the night after she passed away sat at her bedside in the hospital. The next morning the nurse found him laid next to her on the bed, she was unable to revive him. It was concluded that he had a heart attack during the night.
Whilst Danny's death certificate said he had died of a heart attack, his family and friends however knew better, he had died of a broken heart. He couldn't bear to live without his Montana.
For this reason their ashes were mixed together and spread equally between their two favourite places, Central park, in the spot where Danny proposed and the cabin in Montana where they had spent so many happy times as a family.
