A/N: Hey there! This is a rocky story full of unexpected and rather crude incidents. But that's ancient Greek mythology for ya.

No offense intended. Also, kinda my first fic that I'm sticking with. Any reviews will be appreciated!

WARNING: There will be sex. There will be incest. There will be questionable dialogue.

And therefore, the story is rated M.

Chapter 1- Before the Flood

"It is no small amount of wonder, what is wrong and what is right, and who is left to blame for it all.

For the conceit of those in power outshines the vastness of the world they rule, which cowers under their false prowess and quick, foolish ire."

All through the night his queen raged and cried, yet found no relief. A cold fear gripped his heart, when his thoughts matched the whispers 'Queen Cenchreis might not live to see the day'. But far worse it would be if his heir died with her.

King Cinyras almost wished that his queen may die, as long as his son would be born. A prince who would know no hardship whatsoever, not even that of the absence of a mother. He could take another wife, maybe even more beautiful than Cenchreis herself. But it could never be; he says to himself as he remembers the first time he came upon her bare, a more divine sight he has not seen in all the maidens he has lain with before.

Only the goddess Aphrodite could be more beautiful. And nothing could be more beautiful than Aphrodite, the goddess of love, beauty and desire.

She had blessed him with a deep desire and love for his wife, of supple breasts and a warm home deep within her, and a joyous smile that eased him.

He couldn't bear to lose her.

It would be cruel for the gods to take her so young, such a beauty and such grace and loveliness of only eighteen.

His heart wouldn't take the loss of two loved ones so dear, he could never deem himself whole in their absence.

What would become of Ceres?

His fears were burdening him so that he rushed to the nearest myrtle and fell to his knees, praying for his wife and their unborn child. Praying for mercy from the gods, who had taken his father King Paphos a mere two moons prior.

And hours later, his wife gave a blood curdling shriek and went silent for the first time in two days. A silence played over the entire kingdom, until a loud, shrill cry dissolved it into a state of relief and celebration, as the kingdom of Ceres had been blessed with a young heir. Overjoyed, King Cinyras rushed to the Queen's chamber, through tHe flurry of the nurses to see his wife pale and panting, a contrast from the very image of her he had envisioned hours before. But she was alive. And so was his heir, his strong, wonderful prince. Only, the wet nurse, bare in the front holding the infant with tears in her eyes whispered "My king, it is a princess". Cenchreis, close to unconsciousness reached for her babe before King Cinyras took the little princess from the nurse and sat close to his wife. He was surprised at the prospect of a princess, but it was evident that the Myrtle had blessed him with life, a wonderful little life in his arms. He kissed her head before he ever so carefully handed her to his wife, so weak yet startlingly beautiful. "A blessing from the goddess Aphrodite herself. Princess Myrrha." He said. The shadow of Paphos only made the joy and blessing more cherished than ever.

The King and Queen of Ceres had not known happiness like this before.
