"Erm, Kanda, what's this?"

"It's chocolate, you dumb bean sprout."

"And why is it green?"

"Either you disappear right now, by yourself, or I'll escort you out with Mugen."

Allen didn't need telling twice, he bolted out of the kitchen as fast as he could.

Kanda sighed. Did Allen really think he wanted to do this? Contrary to popular belief, he did know what day the fourteenth of February was; he just didn't see what the fuss was all about. Wasn't it just the death date of some saint? Where was the connection between that and love anyway? And was really a need to involve chocolates? But Lavi had insisted and he'd found himself standing in the middle of Jerry's kitchen, stirring the pot of green goo.

The next day, Kanda handed Lavi a box. It wasn't beautifully wrapped, and no one would have guessed that the box in Kanda's hand was Valentine's Day chocolate. And it was hand made by Kanda too.

"What's this, Yuu?"

"It's the chocolate you've been whining about since the start of the year, you dumb rabbit! Now eat it."

"Erm, do I absolutely have to?"

A glare from Kanda was all the confirmation Lavi needed.

Lavi looked at the chocolate and gulped. On one hand, this was Valentine's Day chocolate hand made by Kanda; on the other hand, he didn't really trust Kanda's culinary skills, and he had heard about the green liquid from Allen. He really didn't want to taste it, much less eat it.

Kanda glared at him again, his hand shifting ever so slightly towards Mugen.

Oh, then there was no other choice. Lavi cautiously opened the box, fully expecting the box to explode into green smoke. But the contents of the box was brown, chocolate brown. So it wasn't green, you dumb bean sprout! But there was still no telling what Kanda had put in the chocolate. Very carefully, Lavi broke off a piece, sniffed it once, twice, and was about to sniff it a third time if not for the third death glare Kanda sent his way, and of course, the way Kanda's hand moved yet another inch closer towards Mugen.

Left with no other choice, Lavi could only put the chocolate into his mouth. As he chewed, he could literally see his life flashing before him like a slide-show. Was this how his young life was going to end? Not during a battle with the Millennium Earl, but by Kanda's chocolate? It wasn't bad too, to die by Kanda's hands. Goodbye, cruel world…

Wait.

Lavi broke off another piece of chocolate and ate it, this time chewing it slowly.

"Hey! This is some good chocolate, Yuu!"

What's with surprised tone!? Was the reputation of his culinary skills that bad!? Kanda remembered the green goo yesterday, and resisted the urge to Mugen Lavi. Okay, so maybe he wasn't a natural chef and the first try didn't turn out that good, but once he got the liquid to turn brown, things were relatively easier after that. But it still had taken him a lot of effort, but it was worth it to see his rabbit smile so happily, and he could finally have some peace and quiet now that the rabbit can finally stop bugging him for chocolate…

"Is Yuu gonna make it for me next year too?"
