Jayne ain't yellow.
And he ain't scared of Mal. He's a bit bigger than the captain, and a bit stronger, and a bit more ruthless, and he ain't yellow.
He don't stay up at night, afraid to sleep, afraid to overstep the boundaries even in his own mind, and he ain't terrified of what Mal would do or say if Jayne came clean about these dreams. Ain't afraid of being kicked off Serenity at the next stop, maybe earlier, because of what he shouldn't want but does.
This ain't a matter of courage.
Mal ain't sly, and Jayne ain't yellow.
