The plastic crunched beneath his cleats, leaving imprints in the clear surface. Beneath him, a river of liquefied meat swirled endlessly, sending an unusual smell into his nostrils. His eyes were locked onto the decrepit building before him. A small part of his mind whispered to him about how wrong this was, how inhumane. Another part sneered derisively, for since when had he ever been human? He clenched his bat tightly, steeling his nerves.
He busted down the door of the Elsen's home, his eyes searching in the darkness for their whereabouts. Miniscule amounts of light poured into the room from the open doorway, highlighting his frame and casting an intimidating shadow on the furthermost wall. He stepped cautiously into the wizened house, his body posture tense and alert. The glow of the Add-Ons illuminated darkened corners, and he found the small family cowering from him not too long after.
"I am here to purify your souls," he informed tonelessly, his eyes glowing softly. The lie came easily enough as it was an easier truth to face than the reason he was truly there for. Hysteria threatened to overwhelm him suddenly, and he was forced to squash it down violently. The male Elsen quickly Burnt in distress, trying to protect his family to the best of his extent. It sent an unfamiliar pang through the Batter, one he immediately tried to rid himself of.
Therefore, he vanquished the Elsen with ease, a small sneer on his lips. He casted his eyes upon the crying female Elsen, who was hiding her child behind her in fear. The female quickly Burnt just as her husband had done, and he vanquished her with a slight feeling of discontent. Her final words struck a chord in his entire being.
"Not… my son… please…"
Then she disappeared. The Batter stared at the spot she had been momentarily, his resolve wavering, but he steeled himself once more.
The little boy stared at him as the taller man neared, an unreadable look on his face. "Ah…" the child said, closing his eyes.
The Batter dealt him a swift purification, his body trembling afterwards. He fell to his knees and stared, listening to the echoing whispers of comfort his Add-Ons offered.
"It's good that you killed them…"
"Shhh… kill them…"
"You need to kill them…"
Picking himself up, he strengthened his resolve and crushed the small voice in his mind calling him a monster. He had to do this; else, he would never be able to face his wife and son. A hysterical laugh escaped his lips before he masked his expression once more, picking up his bat and exiting the now empty house.

Notes: I saw an OFF headcanon on Tumblr talking about 'What if the Batter killed Elsen families to prepare for killing his own?' and it prompted me to write this while my computer updated…
