The only thing breaking the charged silence of the office was their heavy breathing. Glaring across the marble desk, neither woman noticed how they leaned toward each other, bracing their hands on the cool marble. Forgotten was the reason they were fighting. Ever since their fight in the graveyard they had been able to keep their interactions to glacier stares and even colder statements. Whether it was something in the air or the buildup of tension, today their stalemate would break.
They continued to stare at each other. The brunette exhaled, straightening up, looking down at the blonde still leaning against the desk. "Sheriff, I'll only say this once more. Get. Out. Of. My. Office." A sneer crept over her face, partly because of the woman in front of her. Partly at herself, for letting the woman get to her. She felt the blood pound in her ears, as she saw the smirk form on the mouth of her current and most persistent annoyance.
Smirk still in place, Emma straightened as well. Clenching her hands, she shoved them into her pockets so the other woman couldn't see them shake, she tried to relax her stance. She succeeded marginally. "I'm not going anywhere, Madame Mayor. This has gotten ridiculous, and we can't have a simple meeting turn into a screaming cat fight when we get put into a closed room."
"Well, let's try to avoid that then." Regina said haughtily as she walked around her desk towards the door.
"What, the fighting?" Emma asked, turning to follow the movements of shorter woman.
"No. Being in the same room. I've already told you what I wanted from you," the statement emphasized with each click of her heels.
Not being able to help herself anymore, her right hand shot out from her pocket, grabbing the Mayor by the arm and spinning her to face each other head on.
Frustrated, Emma stepped forward grabbing hold of both arms of the woman in front of her and giving her a slight shake. "Well I haven't told you what I wanted, dammit. And you will listen to me for once," she snarled into Regina's face. To Emma's surprise, she watched the brown eyes in front of her darken further, and the chest in front of her raise heavily with harsh breaths.
Leaning forward, with their noses almost touching, Regina lowered her voice "Unhand me Sherriff. I don't think you realize what I'm going to do to you if you don't let go this instant."
Green eyes lowered to watch the wicked mouth threaten her. Raising her eyes to lock with darkened brown, Emma came to a decision. "You know what, Madam Mayor? I don't care anymore." Grabbing hold of the short brown locks and taking a visceral pleasure in messing up that perfectly coiffed hair, the blonde lunged forward, locking their mouths together.
