Do not look upon the world in black or white
but in shades of gray
nay!
A whole array of colors, each rich to behold
for it is the things in between which I am told
are far, far more magical than those that simply
are the way they are
Between the dusk and twilight
or dawn and morning star
The same holds true, it should be known,
for the years between one's innocence
and becoming fully grown
For trepid times as these
Leaves one to wonder whether
they walk with the awake
or dwell within a dream
Yet I've found it best to choose from neither
and instead live somplace in between.

Hey. This is my first work of anything remotely like a "fanfic". This poem was inspired by the film Labyrinth and also a quote made by Jim Henson about the movie:
"[Labyrinth] is about a person at the point of changing from being a child to a woman. Times of transition are always magic. Twilight is a magic time and dawn is magic - the times during which it's not day and it's not night but something in between. Also the time between sleeping and dreaming. There are a lot of mystical qualities related to that, and to me this is what the film is about."
I tried to stay away from any direct references to Labyrinth, because I wanted it to be able to stand on it's own. Any input (the good, the bad and the ugly) would be greatly appreciated :)
