I never really thought that anything exciting could happen to me. I had read books that tell of great adventures that normal people like me get to have. Harry Potter became a wizard, Percy Jackson was a half greek god, Clary Fray had angel blood running through her veins. But me, i was just a normal person. Nothing magical, or holy about me. So you better believe i was excited when this next bit happened. I mean who wouldn't be?

It was March and the tide was in, giving the salty sea air a little extra kick. The salmon swam below unaware of the net about to bring them to there doom. I was finding it a bit harder to release the net into the sea lately, and my hands would cramp up before pulling the net back in. This time was different though. Without a second to lose i pulled in the net, fish flopping around before stopping to stillness as they used up there last bit of energy. "Claire! go into the main hall and help your mother with the dishes. i got this for now." my father instructed me as he took away the net and pushed me toward the under dock. i hurried along into the small cooking area, and seeing the dishes stacked up i got to work. I turned the nozzle for the water on but nothing came out. " hey mom why is the water not working?" i called out over my shoulder, knowing she must be nearby. "just keep trying Hun!" i heard a muffled voice coming from the main room. i sighed and tried again, and again. five more minutes later and it still failed to turn on. i closed my eyes and silently willed the water to come on by chanting a couple latin words for water in my head. suddenly i felt a blast of water hit my face and heard my mother gasp behind me. "Claire how in the world did you do that!" she screamed. i opened my eyes and realized looking down at the nozzle that it had broken off and the inner workings of the plumbings was leaking everywhere. "uh..maybe it was percy jackson..." i mumbled remembering my favorite book.
