The day was coming to a close at peachcreek high school which was closing up for the weekend, the only people that were still in the building were mostly a few teachers still going over paper work or getting ready to leave, some students left for home while others stayed to attend their after school activities others still hung around just to hang around, until security made them leave.

It was like any other day in a high school two months before graduation the weather was warm and there was a mixture of chaos and excitement in the air; there was so much that felt needed to be done and not much time to do it in—not just academically but personally, as well.

Back behind the School was the sports field; directly in the middle was the football field surrounding that was the track of course, to the left was the equipment storage whatever was too big to go in the school building storage but mostly just old equipment that wasn't being used and to the right was the schools pool, a nice fully furnished competition sized swimming pool where a young man laid resting around the back of the building out of sight of security while he enjoyed a lone smoke; he knew the swim team didn't have practice on Friday.

Eddy age 19, sat flipping through his phone and listening to music while taking a few puffs of a blunt he had saved for when he had the chance to cut class– just a moment to himself from all the chaos for one day he didn't Even tell his best friends where he was going just him and the sounds nothing mattered not his family and friends and their bullshit, not his reputation, or the fact that he has a criminal record.

Eddy was known around town as a hustler, and even a drug dealer, but one day he got caught with a bag of pills and a gun in his car which was impounded he however was approached by a his principal who was a close friend of his family with a deal: that if he took high school seriously and graduated, the charges and record would be wiped clean.

The young man sat alone on top of an A/C unit deep in thought, he knew; that the principal was only helping to look good but not for the public it was more of a personal motivation.

"just two months and I'm free." He mindlessly mumbled to himself, still busy flipping through his phone clearly off in his own world until he heard an unexpected splash coming from the windows that were ajar; the janitor hadn't been by to lock the windows yet maybe someone had snuck in which wouldn't have been hard, security wasn't the brightest.

"What the hell, there shouldn't be any swim practice today." Eddy mumbled to himself as he peered into the window.

That's when he saw her surface up from the water, she wore a petite frame her hair was short, except for the bangs covering her right eye, at least from what he could see; but his only problem was, he had never seen her before.

The mysterious girl dove back into the water once again not missing a beat; her swimming was fast and smooth, Eddy was amazed watching her swim from one end to the other like it was nothing for her, as she resurfaced and pulled herself out of the pool Eddy was amazed, so much so that he forgot that the blunt he had was burning away.

"Shit!" Eddy exclaimed without thinking and quickly ducked down after realizing what he just did; Unfortunately the girl was now in ear shot and turned to look behind her only to find an empty window

"h-hello?" The girl called out half hoping to not get a reply, "Is someone there, and is that marijuana I smell!?"

Eddy had already snubbed out the cherry and put away what was left but, clearly it wasn't fast enough.

"Um, d-drugs are prohibited on school grounds, I'm giving you a fair warning– leave or I'll be forced to call the authorities." The girl continued.

"That's something I'd expect Double D to say, who the fuck is she?" Eddy whispered to himself.

Eddy jumped down from the A/C unit and pulled out a fresh cigarette as he walked in the direction of the cul-de-sac leaving behind only questions all surrounding the mysterious girl; he was pretty sure he never met her yet she seemed familiar "Whatever, I ain't burnin brain cells over this I'm fucking tired anyways." He mumbled as the girls voice began to fade away.

Finally making it home his thoughts still buzzed around in his head, but he choose to ignore it as he walked passed his mother who was on the phone gossiping with one of her friends while watching some TV drama that had just aired about a week ago, and his father wasn't home from work yet.

"Oh sweetie you and your fathers plates are in the microwave." She said while Eddy walked by

"As usual." Eddy said mumbling under his breath.

Eddy took his food to his room where he placed it on his nightstand and silently laid on the bed looking up at the ceiling not even bothering to turn on the lights letting his thoughts float around a habit he picked up from one of his best friends awhile back in their freshman year surprisingly it served him well but he still couldn't stop thinking about the girl from the swimming pool, if only he got to talk to her.

"Yeah, if only..." Eddy trailed off as he rolled over on his bed his eyes were getting heavy as his final thoughts, faded away.
