"Whoa, I can't believe this." Ford said, sitting down with his back against the fallen oak log in the forest. He flipped to the first page and read aloud, "'I can't believe that it has been six years since I started my investigation.'" Ford paused and flipped to another page with a bold statement that claimed TRUST NO ONE. "This is so strange, 'trust no one'?"
"HALLO!"
Ford jumped and snapped the book shut, hitting the back of his head against the tree log in the process. "Ow," he murmured, rubbing his head, "Stanley!" He exclaimed, "you scared me!"
"Heh, sorry bro bro," Stanley laughed and jumped over the log. "Hey whatcha reading? Ooh! It has a mysterious looking cover! Can I see what it is?"
Ford covered the book with his hands, "uh, it's honestly nothing, Stanley." Trust no one, does that mean I can't trust him?
"Why are you acting weird?" Stanley tilted his head to the side, trying to get a better view on the book. "Whoa! It's got a pine tree on the cover!"
"It's," he paused and thought about telling his brother. Should he? The thought of the book actually telling him to 'trust no one' was stranger than he liked to admit. But he knew his brother better than anyone, he could definitely trust him. "It's a book about the weirdness of this town! See I knew it wasn't just my imagination."
Stanley looked suddenly more interested in what his brother had found. "Ooh! Cool, lemme see!" He tried to snatch the new book out of his brother's hands.
Ford moved the book out of Stanley's reach and cleared his throat. "I'll hold onto it for now, sorry, Stanley."
Stanley looked mildly disappointed, but he didn't let that get him down. "Okay!" He smiled and helped his brother up from the ground. "Let's get back to the Mystery Shack before Graunty Mabel gets worried that we went missing."
"Or before she knits a sweater for everything inside." Ford muttered, remembering how much yarn she had. Also the her pet pig bothered him slightly.
Stanley walked side by side with his brother. Ford shook his head slightly, "but you know you scared me half out of my skin." He told his twin.
"Wait a minute, what happens when you get scared half out of your skin twice?" Stanley brought up, tilting his head at his twin brother.
Ford was quiet for a moment, then he let a smile pass through on his face. "Heh, well I guess you'd be a skeleton."
Stanley laughed and slung his arm around his brother. "This is definitely gonna be an awesome summer."
