A/N: Written for the Digimon Manga/Game Flash Bingo - #310 - Taiga/Yuuya, and for the Ultimate Sleuth Challenge, prologue: event 4 - write about the meaning of friendship

Privileges

Friendship was a vague term, at least when one was knowledgable enough to work in shades of grey instead of just black and white. And they didn't even start out as such. Mere acquaintances - and maybe there was a bit of rivalry going on there too, because Yuuya was so well bred and Taiga decidedly not. And then they were friends, a friendship born from fighting together and amassing a certain amount of respect for each other.

And then there was Yuuya trying to hammer a bit of class into him, and Taiga attempting some "wild spice". And they both succeeded, to an extent. Taiga got the Yuuya to scream like a madman when he rode his motorcycle at breakneck speeds with the other's arms around his waist. And Yuuya managed to find a brand of coffee Taiga could actually tolerate - even if its price per packet meant he could only afford one a year. Yuuya gave him another on his birthday to make up for it somewhat. And friends teased each other, added hobbies and gave each other friends and all that.

And then there was the kiss, Taiga because it was impulsive and Yuuya was nothing if not refined - in company outside of Taiga, of course. And no-one could really argue that friends didn't kiss. Boyfriend, girlfriend - both had the word friend in it after all, and they weren't the sort that needed an exact word for everything if it didn't really fit, and were they in that sort of relationship yet or not? Who knew.
