I open my eyes and find myself sitting on the base of a hill at night.
"What the, where am I." I said.
I look up see something fenced up on top of this hill and beside it was a small house.
"Ok what joke is this! Mom! What joke are you trying to play. This isn't funny!" I screamed.
I decided to walk up the hill and my first plan was to knock on the door when a voice spoke out.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you."
I look behind me and see a man who looked like he had scene better days.
"Look! If you broke into my house and dragged me out onto the middle of nowhere, I'm going to kick your ass mister!" I scream at him. "Now tell me, where am I!"
"Well to answer your first question I did not kidnap you. Second, you are at the little house on a hill in the United Kingdom." He said calmly.
I look at him like he's crazy. "OK, how in the world did I end up in the UK from Canada while sleeping?"
"I don't know, magic." The old man said shrugging his shoulders up.
I put my hands on my hips. "Wait a minute, how am I suppose to get home? I don't have money on me and I don't even have a passport. How can I even get home?"
"The answer to your question lies up the hill and over the fence."
I walk up the hill and look in though a crack to see in awe a giant peach.
"What is this, James and the giant peach." I said as I laugh a little at the idea.
"Actually, yes it is." The old man said calmly.
Now I now know why he and the house was so familiar. But wait, isn't this also a different time.
"There's only one problem old man, if I'm not correct James wants to go to New York city. That still doesn't solve my passport problem and besides, this is also the wrong time. How am I ever gonna to go back to my old life?"
He sighs. "Look I can bring you back to your home after this journey."
I was going to argue back but then I had a thought. This could be fun. Besides it's not like I'm missing anything.
"OK old man, i'll play your little game but once James is settled in at New York, I will expect you to sent me home after understand."
The old man smiles. "That's fair. Deal."
We shook hands and then I looked back at the peach. "OK, so what do I do now."
"Well as you probably know, James has unfortunately dropped my crocodile tongues and they have gone into the peach. If you eat some of it, it'll form a pathway into the peach where you will meet the others."
"The bugs" I said, not being excited.
"Yes and James will be joining any minute, so you best be on your way." He then turned around and started to walk away.
I look down at my clothes and noticed something. "Wait, what about my clothes? I don't exactly look like someone from the 1950s."
The old man looks back smiling. "Oh, tell them your Canadian. They will understand."
I glare back at him then turn away. "If you weren't my only way home I wound hit you for that comment."
I turned back and he was gone. I turn back to fence. "OK, how do I get in?"
I see a larger gap in from behind the fence and surprisingly I fit through. "OK, how are they in business if I of all people can fit through this fence." I look at the peach and dug my hands into it to grab a hand full.
"Well, here goes." I take a bite out of the piece of peach. "Awe, it's so good." I see the hole forming in the peach and I start to climb in.
"Now to start this adventure!"
