Selphie's Point of View - "All three of them were like that nowadays, hanging off each other like the three Musketeers."
They always paraded around the island together, the princess and her two "swordsmen", A.K.A. Kairi, Sora and Riku. All three of them were like that nowadays, hanging off each other like the three Musketeers. On top of that, I can tell they're keeping secrets from me by the way they always send each other knowing glances.
Ugh – it's so annoying!
Before Sora and Riku had disappeared, the two boys fought for Kairi's heart all the time. One day its cute – heroic even – while other's it was downright frustrating. The two of them only had their eyes set on their prize: Kairi.
When they came back from… wherever they had been for a year…. Sora had matured (though barely) while Riku had become a little more distant. Now, Sora stayed close to Kairi at all times, making it hard for me ever to talk to her, while Riku walked a small distance away from the two of them. Close enough to jump into conversations but far enough away to let Sora and Kairi babble to one another in private.
Sora and Kairi… Now that's a cute matter! They were obviously romantic on a certain level – even if they didn't know it themselves. The looks they give one another when they think no one else is looking, the way they blush whenever they bump into one another "accidentally".
Does either of them even notice Riku half the time? He's always left out, having to watch from his distant-yet-close position. It's really sad whenever I catch Riku send Kairi a look of longing, similar to Sora's but aged beyond his sixteen years. He's obviously in denial about his feelings towards Kairi – or, at least when I asked him about them.
He gave me the cold shoulder. Hmph!
But… from where I'm standing, on the outside looking in, Riku appears content. Content and a little depressed, though that's how he's always been.
Still, I can't help but feel a little pity for him. I tried to keep him company a few times, but he brushed me off with a wave of his hand. If it wasn't for the fact that he was so tall I would have probably punched some sense into him…!
I just wish I knew what's going on. Kairi and I never kept secrets from each other when we were younger. Sora kept me company whenever Tidus and Wakka were playing their ball game. Riku… Riku is always nice eye candy.
It would be nice to know what was going on with them. What secrets they're hiding from me – from everyone on Destiny Island. I've caught a few fraises or words about these secrets.
Heartless.
Nobodies.
Other worlds.
Sea salt ice cream.
Other than the last one, they all sound really random and unimportant. I wonder what they were talking about to bring about those odd words.
Too bad no one's telling me anything!
Selphie never gets any credit being the little gossip spy she is, lol.
