AN: My muse has deserted me. I'm plying it with caffeine and sugar in an attempt to console it, but this is the best I could come up with this afternoon. Oh well. A pairing I haven't written before - what do you think? Prompt number 13 - "farming" (yes, mikathekitsune, this one was damnably difficult).
I've always loved Marluxia's greenhouses. They're so peaceful – the only place in the entire of Castle Oblivion where I feel safe, and can fully relax. He's often ridiculed for spending so much of his time growing flowers, but I think it's lovely. This one is my favourite, with all the carefully tended roses. Actually, Marluxia's the only one of the entire Organisation who has any time for me, with the exception of when they're giving me orders. He doesn't mind me being here, as long as I don't damage his precious plants. Someone, I don't remember who, derisively called his row of greenhouses a "farm", but it isn't. It's his sanctuary, I think, the one place where he can be himself. I come here often, to sit among the fragrant roses and sketch.
"Good evening, Naminé."
"Good evening."
He's carrying a single, perfect rose, as always, but this one is pink. Usually, when he brings me a flower, it's white. Instead of handing it to me, tonight he tucks it carefully behind my left ear.
"Beautiful."
"Thank you, Marluxia…" My voice trails off as he takes my hand and urges me to get to my feet. This is unusual – he doesn't normally give any indication that he's seen me except to greet me and offer a flower.
"Forgive me, Naminé, but…" His lips close over mine, gently, and I can't help but respond. Whoever said Nobodies can't feel must have been lying; I'm almost certain we have hearts, since I could feel the pounding in my chest. He pulls away, far too soon for my liking, but smiles.
"Until tomorrow, Naminé."
I echo his words, "until tomorrow", but did so in a daze. It hadn't been my habit to come here every night, but for that, it certainly could be.
