Winter was pointless to me… snow sparkled down like rain, cold and wet.
Ice covered the path and people danced to the music in the ceremony in the background. I knew you were there, right behind me. I could hear you; it was hard not to hear you with the careful steps you drew towards me. Snow caught in your beautiful white hair, your brown eyes shining with curiously, You put both hands on the rail I was leaning over and shut your white powdered eyes.
"The breeze it's nice." You said turning a little, staring at me with carefulness as if one small slip of the eye would shatter me. I nodded in agreement and you turned your attention back to sky, the stars shining fearlessly in the reflection of your eyes.
"Seto look." You said removing one hand from the rail and into my palm.
Fireworks lit the sky in a peaceful blue or white, and then disappeared only to be replaced with another. You smiled softly then turned to me again.
"It's one minute to midnight!" You whimpered. I closed my eyes and turned away from you.
"Indeed." I mumbled walking away. You quickly caught my hand and I chose to not look at you.
"Please stay… just for a minute," You whispered in a soft British tone.
I don't know you, you're meant to be the boy who I only see in class… the boy, who I don't even talk, the boy who droops behind me everywhere like a sad little dog.
I didn't want to know you but your wish was just to know me, to hold me, to kiss me.
I turned to you and nodded.
"Just for a minute." I agreed before walking to the rail and leaning against it once more. You didn't smile as I thought you would instead you just sat down on the ground and cried, I watched your perfect eyes brimming with unfitting tears, your hand pressing down the long blades of grass. I leaned down and pulled you up, your eyes casting a quick glance into mine before looking back up at the sky.
"Will you… just hold me?" You pleaded softly your eyes catching mine again.
I nodded and pulled you into a tight hug, your body pressing softly against mine and for a minute everything stopped spinning, and it was just you and I.
Five seconds to midnight, I heard you whisper 'Thank you' as the last second came and then you we're drowned out by the cries of people screaming 'Happy new year'
I closed my eyes and made a wish and I think you did the same. But when I reopened them you were gone, my cell phone started to ring then, I reached into my pocket and fished it out. The words were the one's I had expected.
"Ryou's gone Kabia." I smiled to myself unable to stop the one tear that slipped down my cheeks.
"I know." I said before cutting us off. I stared up at the sky and listened as I could almost hear you walking away a smile on your face as you disappeared.
Kitten: so was it good? Or bad?
