Forbidden for now.

"It has been a long time... hasn't it?" she said. Very quietly sitting next to him, she wrapped her arms around her legs, while wearing a sad, pained expression.

"What do you mean?" he too had said quietly, after she had settled herself next to him. Neither of them had once looked upon the other. They were both watching out to the distance with a heavy mind...

They were tired.

"Since we have talked..." Out there, in the distance, were mountains, big and mightful, sharing their glory with the elegantly flying eagles, who were twirling around them. Or were it the eagels who made the sight so beautiful...

"It had to be done... it still does..." Still- they haven't looked upon the other. The sight of freedom was beautiful, sadly, they couldn't have that.

"I know, " she said, but added as quietly as she could, meant for only his ears- "but I've missed you..." with that she placed her hands beside her. Eyes still glued to the mountains.

Although it seemed to be their resting place, the sky would always be their home. Wings outstretched, the never stopping elegant movements... it seemed as if they were flirting with the horizon. (Oh how much he missed doing that.)

"...I know..." Their time together was forbidden, but they were too tired to be hiding now.

The mood in the balcony was heavy, there seemed to be no air, It wasn't what they could handle- it wasn't what she could handle. He had brought her happiness- showed her the world. He was what kept her going after everything she's been through, she personally... How could they do this to them? After all they've... but she didn't look at him, neither did he. They were sad, jealous at the eagles who flied there, as if there wasn't a care in the world. So for a moment she broke- letting tears roll down her cheek.

He knew what was happening, and it broke his heart. As carefully as he could, he let his hand move closer to hers- letting it slide softly down her arm, making her shiver. He placed his hand on top of hers, caressing it and then tightened it. She was surprised at his courage, what if anybody saw? Leave it to him to be so reckless...but she needed his touch. She couldn't live without it anymore. And right now it waswhat she needed- this little reassurance of his, reminding her that someday...

Quickly she reminded herself that this was only for one night. She knew she had to live a long time only from this, besides the fact that their love was... forbidden (Oh how much she hated that word...the limits), he would be leaving her again anytime soon. So she interlaced her fingers with his and managed to get a hold of herself.

The tears stopped.

As they were doing the forbidden, they watched the mountains. They watched the seemingly carefree eagles, and the beautiful sun, as it disappeared behind the breathtaking sight, leaving the sky with beautiful colours to remind everyone of it's might, just a few more minutes.

They savored this moment for their whole lives and made a silent promise in their minds to fight for their love, fight for what they had- for what they felt... even if they would... die because of that.

But as for now, they had to remain a secret- their time would come. And when it did, they would be as free as the eagles- finally free... and together.
