Hey guys! Just a short little one-shot in honor of the season 4 recap...you know, with the ring and all? Enjoy xoxoxo

Maura looks Jane up and down slowly, with an almost unreadable expression on her face. Jane is still smiling brightly, holding her newly ring-clad left hand up for her best friend to see.

"You…you're saying yes?"

"Yeah! Maura I'm sayin' yes!" Jane exclaims as she flips her hand around so she can look at he ring, as if to make sure she isn't dreaming.

The honey-blond is at a loss for words; she can't believe what she's currently witnessing her best friend do.

The ME tries to form a coherent thought, but all that she manages to mutter is a low "wow," from under her breath. Jane looks away from her hand and down at Maura once more, and sees the face of pure disbelief upon the shorter woman.

"What? Maura, come on! I'd have thought that you'd be really happy about this!?" Jane says, stepping closer to Maura, making it sound more like a question than a statement.

Maura looks down at her feet, then up again, trying her very hardest to avoid the inevitable eye contact with the detective. "I-I just can't believe it, is all," she mumbles, shock still showing on her face.

"Well, believe it, Maur! C'mon! Typically when someone loves another person, and they ask them to marry them, they say yes! Why can't you wrap your head around this!" Jane says, waving her hands in a typical Italian way to further show her point.

When Maura doesn't answer, Jane lets out a breath of air in a huff. She reaches for Maura's hands and holds them between her own and pulls her over to Maura's office and sits them down on her couch.

"Look, Maur. I know that things have moved lightning fast and you're probably really surprised that I said yes. And, I know I didn't say yes right away but hear me out! I thought about it! I took a freakin' day off work to think about it, so you know that this is important to me. I thought 'would I be happier if I was married?' and my answer was yes."

Maura looks up and finally makes eye contact with Jane, her eyes red and tears now falling freely. "Really?"

"Yes, Maura. I thought real hard about this. Being married will make me happier than I think I've ever been. Especially if it's you who I'm married to,"

Maura then smiles and looks down shyly, twisting the ring on Jane's finger. "It looks beautiful on you,"

"Yeah, it does. I love it." Jane looks at Maura with adoring eyes. "And I love you,"
