I am back for a new fanfiction this is my first chapter of my first sao fanfiction called the sword of darkness first I do not own any of the characters but the oc that is in most of my fanfiction darkshot but I don't own kirito asuna or the rest of the gang.

2 Days before the launch of SAO

"Good bye kirito ill see you later im off to kendo practice" shouted suguha from downstairs

"Ok stay safe Suguha" kirito shouted down as he always did when he said goodbye to his cousin.

As Suguha left the house kirito walked downstairs to grab the lunch that his cousin had prepared for him and then ran upstairs to clean up his nerve gear as sao was gonna be released in a few days and he had already played the beta and was the second best player in the beta apart from a player who would not want his tag to be revealed for some odd reason.

*later that day*

It had been nine hours since suguha had left for kendo practice she was anent to be back five hours ago but she was not home and kirito and his aunt/mum where starting to freak out as they have been trying to contact here by every way they could but as they had lost all hope of contacting her there was a vibration in kirito pocket so he took it out looked at the caller only to find out it was the one he had been trying to contact for so long so he clicked the answer button as soon as he could only to hear a man voice say

"im sorry to inform you but this is the hospital and the owner of this phone was hit by a truck approximately five hours ago on the way home so we rushed her to hospital and she is now in a coma and we have no clue how long it will take her to wake up or even survive this my apologies sir" said the doctor on the other end of the phone. At this point kirito had already dropped his phone and walked with his head hung low to his room before slamming his door shut and crying for a solid three hours as his mother had gotten the same call she was already at the hospital as she was on the way to work before hand.

Launch of SAO

As kirito woke up he saw it was already nearly time to enter SAO he was up so late last night visiting suguha that he lost track of time but regardless he was going to enter this game to take his mind off of all of the things that have happened to him recently. Kirito stood up flattened his spiky black hair turned the air conditioner on and lay on his bed with his nerve gear on as the time hit 12:00 he said two words that would change his life for the worse

Sorry about this short chapter but I wanted to prepare and brainstorm some ideas of what will change and how much will change from the anime which will take me a few days with the help of a friend of mine which btw is the character I based echo off in my fairy tail fanfic so the next chapter will probably be up in two or three days so till then.
