I'm not gonna teach him how to dance with you.
Set in Half-Blood Prince.
Hermione was walking down the corridor; she needed to run to be able to make it to Potions class on time. She was up all night, again! She had been crying herself to sleep ever since the night Ron hooked up with Lavender. But she loved Ron ever since she corrected him with Wingardium Leviosa. She didn't mean to be a twat with Ron; she just wanted to show off her skills back then. But she was sure he didn't love her back.
I mean why would anyone want me? I'm nothing. Thought Hermione.
She raced down the hall and caught a glimpse of Ron and Lavender, snogging near the window. That was it; she couldn't take it anymore. She ran past the window where Ron and Lavender were. She saw that Ron looked up and Lavender did too.
"Why did you stop?" demanded Lavender
"Lavender! You and I. We're finished." Ron snapped back. Lavender looked surprised at how Ron stood up for himself. Ron Left Lavender and searched for Hermione. He lost her. Ron swore under his breath. He was disappointed with himself. For letting the girl he loved walk away. He went to search for her.
She ran aimlessly; her only intention was to get away from RON! She avoided him for a few months now. It hurt. She was going to miss class. It didn't matter because her grades were slipping anyway; too much worrying about Ron. He didn't even care for her. She knew where she had to go. The room of requirement.
Ron was frustrated, he wanted Hermione. So bad! He stopped in front of the room of requirement; closed his eyes and muttered "Please, please let the girl I love be in in there." He slowly opened his eyes and there she was, cuddled by the fire with a book; typical Hermione but that's what Ron loved about her. She wasn't like the other girls who tried too hard to impress Harry or him. She sat there; Ron swore he heard her tearing up. He moved towards her, he loved everything about her. Ever since the basilisk petrified her, he would visit her in the hospital wing every night. He would sneak his way there with Harry's invisibility cloak and he would just stare at her for hours or just talk to her; not knowing if she could hear him. He knew that she would become Mrs. Weasley one day.
Hermione heard footsteps in the back. She turned around; there was Ron.
"What do you want Ronald? I'm not doing your paper for you if that's why you're here." Hermione was getting mad now. All Ron ever wanted from her was her help, her help for homework and such.
"Um- No. I was just here to hang out if that's fine with you." Ron took a seat next to her before she could answer. "Remember the night before Slughorn's Christmas party and I asked you to teach me how to dance so I won't step on Lavender's feet?"
Hermione scowled. "Yes, I do." She said through gritted teeth.
"Well," Ron was being nonchalant. "My favourite part about that night was you."
"What?"
"I loved holding you in my arms, I loved swaying you around and you laughing at my jokes for the first time in ages. I love how you were patient with me even if I was messing it up. I loved how you blushed when I nearly kissed you…"
Hermione gasped, ready to hit Ron for just dropping a bomb like that. But before she could do it he grabbed her by her waist and kissed her. It was the softest kiss ever. They finally broke apart. Hermione was tearing up but chuckling.
"You know how long I've been wanting you to do that?" She was fixing herself into Ron's arms
"Awhile." He winked.
