This is my first time writing a fan fiction for the website. I would just like to thank my good friend turtle1227 for helping me write this story, and giving me the inspiration to write this story. She did the grammar check and spell check. Check out some of her work on this website it's just great writing. IF you don't believe that the Rainbow Archer is a real DC super villain you should believe it because he is real. So look it up if you don't believe in The Rainbow Archer.

"Looks like the Rainbow Archer is back, Oliver. This time he's holding hostages at Starling National." Felicity said as she watched her tablet intently. The live feed of the hostages explaining shakily what their captor wanted had just gone viral, with already over a million views and counting.

"What does he want?" Oliver practically growled, bow in hand. This guy had been stirring up trouble in the last few months, and he was getting on Oliver's nerves. Despite appearing to be solo and inexperienced, the Rainbow Archer had managed to get off easy after his previous crimes, which the Arrow had put a stop to. Oliver always tended to be careful around him, as he knew about the other archer's deadly aim and willingness to kill. Oliver had already lost so much. His mother, father, Tommy, Thea (who disappeared off the face of the earth) and Sara, who had just returned to the League of Assassins. The only people he had left were the members of Team Arrow.

The mission had been like any other. Felicity spoke directions in their ears while Oliver and Roy went to take care of the Rainbow Archer and Dig and Laurel helped the hostages to escape. They had gotten everyone out of the building to safety and soon joined in the fight against the enemy archer, who exposed himself to not be working alone. Four more men in black jumped out, taking on Team Arrow. The men who challenged Roy and Dig were soon unconscious, while Laurel struggled against her attacker and Oliver took on the Rainbow Archer and a follower. Things were going decently until Laurel finished off her fight and stupidly charged the Rainbow Archer, causing him to startle and release an arrow.

From Oliver's point of view life went into slow motion. He vaguely remembered sucker punching the Rainbow Archer and knocking him out, but time didn't speed up until he was at Laurel's side.

"Laurel!" Oliver yelled. "Hey, you're okay. You're okay."

He clutched onto her tightly as Dig and Roy kneeled next to him on the ground, both shocked and horrified at the arrow protruding from Laurel's chest.

"Ollie, listen I... I know I probably won't make it out of here alive..." She struggled to say, her words impossibly soft.

"Yes, Laurel, yes you will." Oliver said, tears stinging his eyes.

"Ollie, I just want you to know that I love you and I always have and tell my sister and my parents that I...I died saving innocent people. Oliver...I..." Her breath caught as her eyes shut and didn't open again.

"Laurel, no. Please, Laurel, please!" Oliver sobbed, darkness surrounding him from within.

Three days later Oliver and the rest of Team Arrow were at the funeral of Laurel Lance. Oliver couldn't bring himself to talk to her family. He told Sara what happened and she had said right away she didn't blame Oliver but he blamed himself. He never thought that Laurel, his first love, would be dead, and that her blood would be on his hands. He had vowed the moment she bled out in his arms that he would avenge her death.
