Note: I gave the emotions different ages. Joy is twenty-five, Anger is twenty-one, Fear is fifteen, Disgust is thirteen, and Sadness is eleven.

It was a Saturday morning. Fear walked out of his bedroom and he went to his locker. He took out a pen and a clipboard. Joy was at the emotion console. She was making Riley happy. Anger and Disgust were looking at clothes. Disgust was going to try on new clothes and she wanted Anger's opinion. "Okay, so what do you think of this?" Disgust asked. "It's alright with me?" Anger said. "Are you kidding? It looks like someone puked on it." Disgust said. "I don't see any puke." Anger said. "Whatever." Disgust said. "Wow. You are one typical teenager." Anger said. Disgust sighed. Fear grabbed a cup of coffee. "Alright. Everyone's safe in here. Wait, where's Sadness?" Fear asked.

Sadness was in her circle, crying. Fear heard the crying. "Where's that coming from?" Fear asked. Then he saw Sadness crying her eyes out. "Sadness?" Fear asked. Sadness stopped crying. "Hi Fear." Sadness said. "Is everything alright?" Fear asked. Sadness shook her head. "Why are you crying in your circle?" Fear asked. "Because." Sadness sobbed. "No one wants me."

"Hey, that's not true. I'll talk to Joy." Fear said. He drank his coffee and walked over to Joy. "Hey Joy." Fear said. "What's up Fear?" Joy asked. "It's about Sadness." Fear said. "What's wrong?" Joy asked. "Nothing. However, there is one problem. Sadness said that no one wants her." Fear said. "Okay." Joy said. "Is that true?" Fear asked. Joy nodded. "Joy!" Fear yelled. "What? Sadness gets in the way. Right guys?" Joy asked.

Anger and Disgust nodded. "Yeah. Duh." Disgust said. "Fear, she's a pain!" Anger yelled. Fear sighed. "Guys, you do realize that you're making fun of our friend." Fear said. "Oh Fear, stop this stupid nonsense right now! Sadness is nothing but a slow, boring emotion. She will never be great like the rest of us. I mean look at you Fear, you are a tall and handsome emotion who always is ready to work, Disgust is a beautiful emotion who is very picky with her fashion, Joy is a happy emotion. She's our leader, and me, oh I'm very handsome and I make sure everything is fair." Anger said.

"You're right about me, Disgust, Joy, and yourself, but you're wrong about Sadness! She is my friend!" Fear yelled. "Look Fear, only you would be friends with a crying girl." Anger said. Fear got annoyed and he walked away. Fear walked over to Sadness. "Hi Fear." Sadness said. "Hey." Fear said. "What are you doing with me? No one likes me." Sadness said. Fear put his hand on Sadness. "That's not true. I like you." Fear said. Sadness looked at Fear with tears in her eyes. "It's okay. I'm right here." Fear said. "You really like me?" Sadness asked. Fear nodded. "Yeah. Come on, let's do something fun." Fear said.

Meanwhile, Disgust was still trying on new outfits. "Oh come on Disgust! You've been trying out a bunch of outfits. Can't you just pick one?" Anger asked. "Excuse me, Riley needs to look perfect." Disgust said. "But you're not helping Riley, you're playing with yourself." Anger said. Disgust rolled her eyes. "Teenagers." Anger said. "Let's just keep looking at these clothes." Disgust said.

Joy was pressing every single button. "Ooh this is going to a great day! I have never been happier and that is saying something." Joy said. In real life, Riley was dancing to her favorite music and she was eating her favorite food, pizza. Joy was dancing to the music. Fear and Sadness were hanging out. Sadness sighed. "Sadness? what's wrong?" Fear asked. "Nothing. I'm just sad." Sadness said. "About what?" Fear asked. "Never mind. You wouldn't be interested." Sadness said. "I would." Fear said. "I'm just sad." Sadness said.

"Sadness, tell me the truth." Fear said. Sadness sighed. "No one treats me right. Do you think I'm important on this team?" Sadness asked. "Well I'm not in charge, but I think you are." Fear said. Sadness started crying. "Sadness, I said that you are important." Fear said. "Why doesn't Joy feel the same?" Sadness asked. "Well Joy the opposite of you." Fear said. "I guess. Fear, what's my job?" Sadness asked. "Uh..." Fear paused.

"I know, I know. I don't have a role." Sadness said. "I'll ask Joy." Fear said. He walked over to Joy. "Joy, what is Sadness's role in Riley's head?" Fear asked. "Fear, I don't want to talk about her. Hey, Riley's playing with her friend. We've got this new game. Oh I love the game!" Joy yelled. "But Joy, Sadness just wants to know what her role is." Fear said. "Look Fear, we'll talk later. We're about to play this new game!" Joy yelled. Fear walked away.

"Well?" Sadness asked. "I'm sorry Sadness. We don't know your role." Fear said. "It's alright." Sadness said. "I'm guessing that your feelings are hurt." Fear said. "Hah! Her feeling are always hurt! That's just Sadness Fear! Ignore her! She's a pest! Am I right Disgust?" Anger asked. "Oh yeah." Disgust said. She was wearing a bright shiny dress. "What are you wearing?" Fear asked. "Oh do you like it? It's my new dress." Disgust said. "That's...very shiny." Fear said. "Thanks. I'm going to wear it today. Come on Anger." Disgust said and she walked away. "Remember, Sadness is just sorrow and gloomy." Anger said and he walked away.

"What a jerk. Don't worry about him Sadness. He just doesn't understand you." Fear said. "No one does." Sadness said. "Let's just turn that frown upside down like Joy would do." Fear said. "I'm not Joy." Sadness said. "I'm glad she's not me. Imagine if something good happened and she took the console. She will set the wrong message!" Joy yelled. "Joy, not helping." Fear said. "Alright. Back to the game." Joy said.

A tear fell on the floor. "Oh don't worry about Joy, Sadness." Fear said. "I'm sorry. I'm just sensitive." Sadness said. "Hey. It's alright. I'm here." Fear said. "Fear, I know why you're with me. Remember when you got scared when you saw something on Halloween? I calmed you down and you said that you owed me." Sadness said. "That's only fifteen percent correct. I don't want you feeling left out." Fear said.

Sadness hugged Fear. "Sorry. I had to do that." Sadness said. "I'm fine. I'm not Anger." Fear said. Sadness lied down on the floor. "Are you alright?" Fear asked. "Yeah. I'm just too sad to stand." Sadness said. "I think we should dance together. That can help." Fear said. "Alright. Let's do a sad song. I know a song called Copacabana. It's about a girl named Lola with her sweetheart, Tony, but then he get killed by a mobster named Rico and Lola is all alone." Sadness said and she started crying. "Alright. I guess we can do that song." Fear said. He put the song on and then he and Sadness started dancing.

While Fear and Sadness were dancing, Sadness started smiling. "I can't believe it. It worked." Fear said and he kept dancing with Sadness.

The End.
