I wrote this after only seeing the first season because my mom hasn't been able to find the second season on DVD anywhere! Oh no! But anyway, I'm sorry if it's kinda(what's the word) childish for those of you who love this show. I'm only fourteen and one night my mom wanted to start watching this because she had watched it in its original run on T.V. and I was there and I watched it with her and I became addicted. So we watched the first season and I'm waiting for her to get the second season so I can see what happens! Anyway, please read and review.
Catherine was walking into her small apartment after a huge fight had occurred between her and Joe. She was had been put on a case and Joe had decided that it was too dangerous for her so he took her off of it. "I can't stand it when he does this. He acts like I'm a little girl." Catherine thought angrily. She walked onto the balcony in hopes that Vincent would be waiting there for her. She looked around in the dark. To her dismay, Vincent was not there waiting. As she turned to go back into the apartment and take a shower, she noticed something sitting on the rail. She walked back over to it and picked it up. It was simple white box, about the size of Catherine's palm, with pink, lacy ribbon. Attached to it was an envelope. She smiled and opened the envelop. Inside was a note handwritten in black ink on a small piece of parchment. Catherine immediately recognized the writing as Vincent's. The note read:
My Dearest Catherine,
I am sorry I could not stay long enough for you to open this present. I had been leaving to come up and father told me to come back immediately. I hope you like the present. I am truly sorry that I could not stay.
Yours Always,
Vincent
Catherine smiled as she put the letter down and opened the box. Underneath some pink tissue, was another note that was tied to a beautiful gold ring with several beautiful diamonds. The note read:
Catherine,
I love you. Will you marry me?
Love,
Vincent
Even though it was a short, simple note, it made Catherine's eyes well up with tears. She smiled as she slipped the ring onto her left ring finger and whispered into the night, "Yes, Vincent, I will marry you." Suddenly, Vincent appeared out of the shadows. "Vincent! I thought father wanted you to be back in the tunnels."
"That was a ploy so I could see the way you would react."
"A ploy, you say?"
"Yes."
"I'd say more like a lie."
"A lie, she says! I would never lie to someone I care so much about!"
Catherine giggled and moved closer to Vincent who in return lowered his own lips to Catherine's pale ones. Catherine returned the kiss passionately. When Vincent broke their kiss, Catherine smiled up at him. "Catherine, I am sorry, but now I really do have to get back to the tunnels."
"It's okay, Vincent. I'll see you tomorrow."
"I'll see you tomorrow."
After receiving a quick peck on the cheek from Catherine, Vincent raced off to the tunnels. Catherine sighed and smiled, looking at her beautiful ring. She picked up the notes and the box and slowly made her way back into her apartment. She took a shower and laid down in her bed. And after what seemed like hours, she finally fell asleep.
