A/N : I kinda wrote this before I read Chapter 218 so it kinda went into AU-land because of that. But I thought it would be a waste to just scrap this, so here it is! But it does make sense, I mean they can't be running around for 2 months doing nothing right? But it was fun imagining their 10 years later selves actually having a life without fighting and stuff. Also, this fic is a bit vague when it comes to referring to certain people so ask me if you have problems understanding. And cookies to those who can guess their location.
With a rustle, Takeshi stepped into the clearing. "Yo, I thought I might find you here."
"What the hell? You're finally here, huh?" Gokudera mumbled, looking up from where he was staring at a spot on the ground in the distance.
"Yup, I was with Tsuna a while longer. But I guess he finally caught up with Tsuna in the end," laughed Takeshi.
"Well, nothing new there. So?" asked Gokudera as he leaned back against the tree trunk.
"I'm sure he'll do his best. But it sure brings back memories. It's been a long time since I've seen Tsuna that young," Takeshi smiled fondly at the thought. "Anyway, since we hadn't had a chance, shall we drink? I bought some sake before coming over," Takeshi continued as he shook the sake bottle that he held.
"Why not? We probably might not have a second chance to drink. Hand the sake over," Gokudera motioned Takeshi to pass the sake bottle over. "Anyway, experiences change people. He had a lot of experience."
"True, but he was still him, right until the end." Takeshi said, sitting down next to Gokudera. "But I believe in them. Knowing the future, knowing the risks involved, there's no way they'll accept it as it is."
"Haha, him too. I can just imagine the look on his face when he found out what had happened," smirked Gokudera before taking a long chug straight from the bottle.
"Oi, oi. That's not like western liquor, don't just chug it down!" Takeshi chided before re-claiming the bottle. "Anyway, is it any surprise that he blamed me? Look at the bruise on my jaw!"
"Well, you can't blame his hot-headedness, but this time I take equal blame. Shit, why did that have to happen…!" cursed Gokudera, gritting his teeth and pounding the ground in frustration.
"No one could have predicted that. That was – Ah, it's raining," Takeshi said as he lifted his palm upwards to catch the raindrops that fell through the shelter of the trees.
"Damnit, don't call the rain, the sake's gonna get diluted," grumbled Gokudera, half-heartedly punching Takeshi in the arm.
"Ahaha, sorry but this time it's not my fault. But it should have rained that day, as if the heavens itself was crying. Instead it was a clear day," Takeshi mused as the raindrops fell faster, heavier.
"Well, he was the Sky after all. What better weather to see the sky clearly?" Gokudera countered, his face upturned facing the sky. If the rain falling on his face looked like tears, who was Takeshi to say anything?
"That's right, I never thought of it that way. That's the boss's right-hand man for you," Takeshi commented, turning his face towards the sky as well.
"Took you long enough to admit that, you baseball-maniac. Where's witnesses when you need them?" grumbled Gokudera as he brushed the water off his face. "They'll make it, won't they? Change the future?" he added quietly.
"Aah," Takeshi said, equally quiet. Fight, and make sure you have no regrets. Fight, and change your future with your own hands. Fight, so that you don't lose the place where you belong. And when it's all over, come back together safely.
